Has anyone tried upholstering the the top of the tent to fight condensation? I'm thinking spray adhesive and maybe some thin backer foam with a bed rug type material on top.

I havent seen it done....yet. Makes sense to me it should work. And if it holds you would be able to do velcro pockets for all the misc stuff.

If you don't follow GFC on the gram, you might want to. They're having a meetup in downtown Los Angeles.

I actually had a thought myself of maybe doing some sort of suede/fabric adhered to the panel n vinyl wrap fashion. Then it could black out the panel and fight condensation at the same time, while being light enough that I wouldn't have to worry about the adhesive coming apart.

On the GFC forum. Someone tried that. It didnt stick that well. Something about the smooth surface and then the heat. The adhesive just didnt stick very well. They said they were going to try a different method. But I havent been on the forum in months to follow up.
I think they were going to try some different 3M high heat, industrial adhesive to try. That and try to get a extra top panel to try other stuff with.

Does anyone have any rec's on awning mounts that might cheaper than the GFC's?

looking at getting a 270 awning but don't really want to shell out $250 or so for the 4 mounts required based on weight of the awning.

For what it's worth, I have an Overland Pro's 4K-270 Awning and I only used 2 GFC mounts. Had it on all summer, zero issues.

Thinking about using DAP weldwood spray contact adhesive. We use it for glueing upholstered panels in vans and it holds up great. Will probably run some tests on plastic. Anyone know what kind of plastic the panel is? Polyethylene?

Local buddy does the same. Used 2, he does light wheeling to camp sites. However, caught a strong wind and it ripped the 270 and bent it to where he had to get it repaired.
I use 4 and have no worries even jumping the truck. So, depends on your usage.

Made a bracket for my rearview camera. Any suggestions for better wire management in the T track? I was thinking about hollow weather stripping.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Yep, it’s tedious, but you can run a wire thru some small bubble seal, it has an adhesive backing…that may work nicely. I have that on the inside of my hill wing doors on the GFC, to neatly run wires for work lights.

I will take a pic later and post it for you.

if you google TSlot Cable Clip you will also see some options.

I have used these on audio racks.

I will add to the list as I find solutions:

You mentioned earlier about condensation. I use one of these in my GFC. I just hang it from the corners and pull it down occasionally to wash it. I didn’t want to cost the interior too with something that I couldn’t remove and wash. I mean it’s gonna get damp! Try a Woobie. It’s cheap!

I have also hung a merino wool blanket above me in a similar issue in a home built teardrop.

Honestly after actually using it in 8* with a propane heater running for like an hour I didn't have any condemnation on the inside that bothered me. The tent had a lot of frost on it that had to get dried out but nothing dripping on me from the plastic.

As far as the wire routing goes, I'd like to keep it inside or flush with the track if I can

    For the wires, try some
Vinyl 1" Insert Molding Trim Screw Cover RV Camper Travel Trailer
    [IMG]
These come in various widths & colors (black), insert one side in the track, give a little squeeze & the other side pops in. Boom, all covered up wires, tidy looking track. This pic & title is from ZonAma

Where's pic 2 taken? I'm not familiar with any U.S. towns look like that.
