Man tell me about it. The first year or so I kept waiting on someone to come in and tell me to get the hell out. I felt way over my head lol. Much less when I took over those departments. I had never had anyone working for me and 90% them are way older than me. It took some getting used to.

Yes sir I've been applying for anything that interest me. I've been denied by one place that said they were going in the direction of someone more suited for the job. I don't know Revit. That is the only program I haven't used and I assume that is the reason. I replied for clarification as to why. I knew exactly how to do what they do. At least they told me something. It's been crickets everywhere else. I just want a chance. I know I can do the job opening at APR in Auburn but no matter how many times I send them a resume and apply they will not call me or call me back. I don't have 4 year degree so they aren't interested. I know horsepower, I know performance mods and have a talent in learning new software on my own. Heck I taught myself Inventor, Lightroom and Photoshop. I get it though, they have certain criteria for hires, just wish they'd give a guy a chance. I 100% agree with Elon that you don't need a 4 year degree to be successful. You just need the right person to give you an opportunity to prove yourself. I'm not finding that around here

APR the Audi shop? I'm assuming that's correct. A good friend of mine used to run the welding shop there. I can see if he stills has any contacts he could talk you up to and get your foot in the door. What position are you applying for?

Edit. Couldn't agree more with you and Elon lol. Also I have been through that whole shop, it's immaculate for a production environment.

No Sir, There is a michine shop (Apel Machine & Supply ) a few miles from my house that makes my driveshafts. Either them or Rocket City Offroad. My slip yokes move less than an inch from stuffed to fully extended. My rear driveshaft tube is about two inches long, it is a front CV shaft from a 94 $Runner.

I have always heard apels will make them but never tried them. Are they fairly reasonable price wise?

They have made driveshafts for a long time.
I take them Toyota driveshafts and they either make them longer or shorter and balance them for me $50 to $75. They make or repair a lot of Bushhog driveshafts for everyone around here. I have used them for all the machine work that I need that I can't do myself and I get all my steel from them too.

Especially since I don't know what I'm gonna do about the hospital cancelling our diabetes supplies. I've given them the chance to raise my pay to offset it....we'll see how that goes. My boss knows I have never bitched about money b/c I kept this job b/c of the supplies. That has now changed. She understood me(and had no idea they changed it), so she said give her til Tuesday to see what she could do.

We'll see. At the end of the day, I have to worry more about my insurance than money. The whole reason I have stayed here was b/c of the free supplies. If I'm gonna have "regular" insurance.....then money has to be a concern. I can move to Clanton and make 25% more money, buy 10 acres with a 2200sqft home(built in 2014) for 139K, and have a cheaper cost of living. The insurance/free supplies are the only thing tying me to Auburn.

Yeah I have taken them tractor shafts but never a vehicle shaft. I always took them to Robert at Dixie offroad. He charged the same $50 -$75 to lengthen or shorten. How are their steel prices, do they keep 1-3/4 tube in stock?
