I've been hunting some public land thats pretty much landlocked by private land, with permission from one of the few surrounding land owners to get access to it. One of those other landowners must not like it too much, or he just has wayyyyy too much money or ammo supply, because nearly every time I'm out there, he'll shoot for hours, and not just a shot every few minutes to sight in a rifle; I'm talking mag dumping every 5 or 10 minutes for hours. He doesn't have any targets set up that I've seen, so I just assume he's trying to make for a bad hunt to keep people out of the area. Also wouldn't expect anyone to be doing any tactical training at 6AM. It doesn't really bother me all that much, but I stopped hunting the public area closest to his property for fear of getting shot, or ricochet.

Just got in. skinned the buck for taxidermist.got it in the walk in till tommorow. had a @1 1/2” drop he broke off loading it. no big deal. will send a bag of scrubs if Larry can fix it. never found hair or blood or anything from the youngest son’s. pretty sure he just skinned it. 68E91FC9-11DB-4B8A-AE59-C3E9374E9353.jpgB9F5D19F-47C2-4F2C-94B8-86916C0F397F.jpg38E94E05-90B7-4F74-A6EB-930722A24B8F.jpg

Thanks fellas. I've never owned or run cameras. Not that there is anything wrong with them, just prefer to hunt sign and the mystery of what might show up during the rut. I've got a acre patch of hardwoods in front of my barn and found a big community scrape in there this year. A friend suggested I put a $30 walmart camera on it. We've had 8 bucks on it so far. The biggest I've named Mongo. Wife and Son are both hunting him some on the surrounding 200 acre cattle farm. Pretty sure he's living here. Would love to see one of them get him. If they do he'll get mounted with the rope if it's still there.
