My pump did start out looking like that, wood and 18.5” barrel and about 25 years old. The stock and forend on it now came out 12 or so years ago. They are made by the Magpul company- it’s a game changer for duty use. Very ergonomic, easy to change length of pull or add comb height. The pistol grip angle helps with manipulating the gun. The slots in the forend make it easy to add lights which are needed for duty (or home defense). After I started using it for work I went ahead and paid the tax to run it as a short barrel shotgun and added the 14” barrel. I still have the wood for mine and think it does look better but I can’t go back after using the Magpul stuff.

The black one is a Beretta 1301 tactical, it’s a semi auto that was purpose built for duty use. A company named Aridus Industries machines adaptors that allow the use of the Magpul stock made for a Mossburg shotgun, the adaptor for the forend mates an AK-47 forend to it. This allows the same adjustibility and ease of adding attachments. They also machine the plate on top of the receiver that mounts a red dot sight. As much as I like my pump, this one is my new favorite.

And to add on that...ready to head off into work knowing that 2 AM is going to then be 1 AM and have to stay a extra hour.
Another guy with the power district I work for has been helping with outages almost as long as I've been there. Great n fun guy, priceless help to me, anyways he told me he just sold the Scout he purchased for $500.00 from original owner with like 20k original miles, rust free, he got $20,000.00 for it.
A retired Dr. Bought it for his wife that had one in high school.
    Heading to work now.
    Nice evening gentlemen.

Remember to change your smoke detector batteries and check your fire extinguishers as you're walking around the house setting your clocks back.

Will was right on with the hornets, I hate them bite and sting, and unlike honey bees 1 sting and done, hornets repeat the sting no barb on stinger , and can get through jeans :anonymous: and though thin bee suits. :bananadead:

Funny how dressing up any long gun with a new black stock other then wood makes them look so mean.

Install the wood pieces no one gives it a second look.

If it has a black stock is must be a full automatic tactical weapon!!!!1

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I took 4 shotso_O at a doe tonight, she froze, then slowly took a few steps. She's standing in 2 ft of standing water, I thought I dropped her. My 4th shot splashed. Turns out it was like a 360 yard shot and I wasnt even close:rofl::rofl:
My charts say a 150 grain .308 will drop 30+ inches at 300 yards.

My eyes aint what I thought they once mightve been. :anonymous:

Estimating range in the field is hard when your not doing it all the time.

How high did you think you were holding above the body?? just what could you see of the Deer??

30" sounds like a lot. If your zero is 100 yds, I thought it should drop around a foot at 300... :notsure:

I suck at estimating range. I take a range finder. When I'm bored I practice trying to guess distances to random things and embarrass myself. :anonymous:

a trick is to range find different land marks then when a target wanders out you have a real good idea of the range .

knowing just where your point of impact is at different ranges is a great help as well.

Exactly. I have dope taped to my rifles and crossbow. Now if I could remember to look at it....

I zero my rifles for "maximum point blank range", which varies by load. Basically you sight in your zero at the distance that allows you to hold dead on for the widest gap in ranges.
