What if you drive a Ford Raptor on 37" tires, and you get a flat tire? That's going to be a pain in this ass throwing that tire around on the shoulder of the free way on your way to work on Monday morning.

What if the factory supplied jack can't lift truck high enough to get the wheel and tire off?

What if AAA just laughs at you and says I ain't changing that shit, as they drive away?

@crashnburn80 explained it a lot better than I had the patience for this morning.

We were talking about a Tesla not coming with a spare tire and what do you do? Since I have a Tesla and have gone on road trips with it, I told you, you travel with a credit card and fix-a-flat and hope you don’t need to use them to keep moving. With any other vehicle I have, they came with spares which I don’t remove.

In 2022, electric vehicle (EV) stocks have experienced a steep decline in share prices due to valuation concerns and a challenging macro environment.

What do EV manufacturers expect for 2023?

With the exception of Tesla, because Tesla is Tesla although they may see a decline in sales or not see an increase in sales for 23.

What are Rivian, GM, and Ford expectations for EV sales in 2023? Other brands like Hyundai and Mazda EVs just aren't that popular, there's also Polestar and Lucid, but those aren't that popular either.

Seems like a great time to buy these stocks. In 2022 there's been a huge decline in nearly everything.

That article will age terribly in the next 5 years.

Saw the first Rivian I've ever seen in person today at a Costco in Surprise, AZ. IMHO - Fugly POS. I am glad I have my new Taco. Main reason I bought the Taco now instead of waiting a couple years until I retired is I did not want a Hybrid or electric POS. So glad I made the decision to buy the Taco!

Yep, looks are the only requirement to not be a piece of shit. Never mind the facts of how it outperforms the Tacoma in every characteristic by which trucks are judged.

That’s sounds like a nightmare. I would lose my mind on a trip like that. I watch most of TFLs videos and they always seem to have problems with chargers too. Why are there so many problems? It shouldn’t be that difficult to charge a battery.

    I'm 'eh.

Had a rock puncture in the taco (back when I had the wranglers). Swapped and got going, since it was a a bit too big. Fix-a-flat ain't fixing that. Maybe a big ass patch would... which is why I upgraded my kit for a patch type repair kit. Next flat was a sidewall puncture. Nope, couldn't patch that one either. Swapped and went home. Swapped for some e-rated KO2s. No problems since... but I still have the spare AND the patch kit just in case.

While I support the coal industry and vehicles that are powered by it, GTFOOH with your Rivian, this is Tacoma World. :D

For people who actually do truck things with their trucks, the mechanical simplicity of the Tacoma is it's strongest suit.

I have a Tacoma with a 37” spare. Factory jack is fine. Spare in the bed. I’d argue changing a 37” is easier than the factory tire under the bed.

What a weird choice indeed. Spending 70k plus on an off-road ready vehicle and they don’t include a spare. I’d love to know their reasoning for that one.

I’m not mad that you have a Rivian and maybe it outperforms a Tacoma…but shouldn’t it? If I paid for a Corvette I would expect it to outperform a Camero. For double the price, it’s the least I would expect.

But then you need an engine with the HP and torque to actually pull those gear ratios. And the 3.5 ain't it for a truck.

The 3.5 would have been better with the old A750 transmission to be honest, 6th is a useless gear.

TBF, the 3.5 is not a bad engine, it's just a bad TRUCK engine.

1 reason could be the payment system a failure to connect from your phone to the charger to where ever that signal is received.

Maybe the satellite infrastructure needs improvement? Charging an EV gets complicated when you think about.

I doubt that as you can run a cc from your phone, or a cc machine as long as you have a signal.

2 some charging locations can only support charging x amount of kw at any given time.

Could be the chargers are junk and or don't do well in the elements and the electroincs fail and need maintenance.

I'd charge at home, and if I drove an EV, I'd rent an ice for road trips.

The bigger the tire the more effort it's going to take changing it. That's the trade off for more ground clearance and running larger tires. Less likely to get a flat with large tires.
