All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Another member PM’d me asking about your camera setup. I think he thought I was the one who posted that pic.
What are you using Rearview and Camera wise?
I was debating on a separate camera, but I also just saw one that works with your phone/tablet.
If I could find one that did that, had a motion sensor on it, all I would need to do is add constant power.

I did a pretty simple rear camera swap.

    Used this camera from Amazon:

    NATIKA Backup/Front View... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H852D49?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Mounted it to a GFC antenna bracket:

    https://gofastcampers.com/products/machined-90-bracket?variant=32737046134887

Drilled a small hole through the extrusion and then ran the wires inside together with the GFC rear brake light wiring into the drivers side taillight and then under the truck.

I then wired the camera by cutting the new camera wiring and connecting it to a harness which plugs into the factory wiring, replacing the camera in the tailgate:

    ALLMOST Compatible with FRONT... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JK5RHNW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

New camera now gives a great Birds Eye view and is automatically selected when you put the truck in reverse.

It’s also easy to go back to stock or remove the GFC, just unplug the new camera and plug back in the tailgate camera. No permanent modifications made to the truck.

No, no issues with the brake light and the camera. Works great for me.

Same, brake lights not really a problem. Headlights at night can blow it out, especially if there's moisture on the lens

They have an actual gfc in orange county (California) and a shop in Vista which is literally an hour away. Granted the Vista shop is a 3rd party vendor

That would be very handy. I have a friend at Y2K games and their scanning facility is amazing and huge. I haven’t mustered the courage to ask if I could scan my truck lol!

I don’t know that there is a whole lot different between gen 2 and 3 but if you are on fusion I’m happy to send you my truck bed file that you could tweak. Might save you a little time…

Stoked on the new locations. I wanted to order the topper but didn’t want to drive to Montana to get it installed. Granted now there’s sales tax but now it’s only a 15 minute drive to Vista to get it installed. Plus it looks like they are waiving shipping and install fees for the rest of the year on them.

One thing to note is now in the specs it says that it weighs 275lbs. I thought it was lighter than that. Even with the extra weight, it’s better than my current Snugtop.

The weight is right. Mine was 268 with three beef bars. V2 SB.

Does it really have sales tax when sending to Vista? I could see their actual location in Orange County having sales tax, but I'd imagine your still buying it from their Montana location which is partnered with the Vista shop for the labor of installation with labor not being taxable? At least, that's how I'd try to claim it.. :anonymous:

Although use taxes is something else to consider I suppose.

So now when you go to order you select what you want on the site and you pay it in full right then and there, there’s no longer a deposit option. When I selected Vista, it automatically added sales tax. But it makes sense because you also have to pay sales tax if you order their white glove delivery/install service.

Yea that makes the most sense for them to do, especially since were still supposed to report the use tax when coming back to California.

The camper should be 275. The cap should be significantly less?

I'll try and keep my eyes posted.

Not terribly active on here, but the GFC thread on here is a solid source of info.

FWIW, I did receive an email back stating the white glove service is now $1750 regardless of where you're located in the US - which means if I order one, I guess I'm driving to Montana.

Keeping my eyes on this Lone Peak camper launch, as well.

Yes I am In the Annapolis MD area. A Philly cheesesteak meet up would be great. Had a blast at the last one and it was pretty cool.
