I'm getting 19.5 MPG on my 2019 OR with 95% short trip in town driving. That's measured at the tank. Truck's computer is always closer to 20. Of course basically stock except for wheels and a skid plate. I do have a TRD CAI and a Cat Back exhaust but it's pretty much common knowledge those things contribute very little to MPG.

So, what are you 16~ MPG guys doing?

Same. I now question the computer, not oogie. Wait, he checked the math. It has to be the faux wood trim then. I saw 20mpg highway once with a brisk tailwind, never better then 18 since, 65k miles logged. 265/75s at 20k

I had a 2016, and later a 2019. Both identical trim: TRD OR, DC, short bed, 4x4, automatic. Both were getting 16-18mpg combined.

Just picked up 2023, V6, Long bed, Access cab, automatic, 2WD. I'm getting 20-24mpg.

I drive 80% freeway, 20% street. Light foot.

It's actually real wood trim, by the way!

To forana, the answer is no. I kept the Ranger for a couple of months, seem to be wasteful on my part. Reason I got the Sport was I felt the Ranger was reaching end of life. Coworker wanted it badly so I sold it to him. He drove about 8 months and traded.

Odd thing on Tacoma, miles to empty just goes to 293, regardless of if fuel is right at the full mark or over full.
I live near a river so it is uphill to the city, mornings I show trip was 22+ mpg and coming home over 26.

Nice truck! It's more than many people have. All these trucks, in any gen or trims are awesome. I'm guessing 2WD? Looks like your Ranger was a reliable beast. There are still lots you can do to make your truck unique and yours. Enjoy. For me, It's been just over 2 years with zero problems and I still find myself lovingly staring at mine all the time.

    Thanks,
I put Silverstar H9 in highs and OEM H9s from highs into my lows and to finish up I was going to the high performance H11s from my lows into my fogs. Problem I have H16 housings and did want to risk it. Thinking about the black OEM led fogs lights now.

These trucks state great mileage numbers when the computer is reset and its learning. Give it a few more miles and watch it go down down down.

My 2008 got better mpg, the 2004 way better, and the 1993 was the best. They dont seem to be getting better in this department. More power I suppose, and the trucks bigger, although made of plastic and tin can metal.

Doing foolish things like carrying lumber, dirtbikes, gravel, tools or other things in the bed and using the freeway. So very foolish.

Commuter MPG is great and all, but let's talk real talk.

Trailer-towing MPG. Taken just this morning. :duel:

So you're actually doing truck stuff LOL. I load the bed from time to time but mostly just driving around town. So, why did I get a truck instead of hybrid or some such? Well, it is Texas and Texas means trucks even if you live in Southlake. (Snooty upscale town)

Leveled with Bilstein 5100 shocks, Falken Rubitrek AT 265/75 tires, Redline hood struts, R4T tailgate lock, Matt Gecko LED strips in bed and under hood, WeatherTech hood guard, OEM bed mat, Husky floor mats, Carhart seat covers, Grille replacement with Toyota letters, Sony AX6000 head unit, OTT lite/mild tune, and an occasional splash of fuel additive.
My Sport gets what it gets for mileage and looks great - much more than just Ok. Mine came with several upgrades (thinks it’s more of a limited). Has been ‘leveled’ and had 285/75s E-rated KO2s. I did not like stance, so I added 1 inch block to rear to bring some rake back (lower nose) and I changed tires to 265/75s P-rated Kumhos that I expect to be better in snow. Interestingly, gas mileage went from about 16-17 on average to 18-19. I made 5 hour road trip at 65-70 and hit just over 20 mpg with a calculator. I didn’t buy the truck for mileage. It’s fun to drive, and I’m mostly on pavement. Not sure how somebody could get up in the mid 20s.
