What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Rain just started. Perfect. Now the light even dust layer pools in nice little circles as it dries.

 

Got that right. I couldn’t believe how light weight the stock speakers were.

 

Kinda romantic if the wife bought most of the mods. Ya think?

 

Block heater and oil pan heater are now officially installed! I also put a remote outlet under the hood, It has a little key fob so I can push the button to turn on the heaters. I was going to use the remote outlet for my christmas lights on my house, but into the truck it goes! The little 1 x 5 oil pan heater ended up being a perfect size for the oil pan.

 

Wifey an me are gonna cruise the Berlin turnpike tonight. Hitting up Joey garlic’s instead of McDonald’s thou. We may act like teenagers but we have a bit more cash than teenagers.

 

Update to this...I previously installed the Meso tail stage 1 and had the 'hyperflashing-when-using-a-turn-signal-while-in-reverse' issue. I ordered the load resistors, but put off installing as it wasn't a big deal. Fast forward to yesterday...With the V5s now hooked into the DRLs I had hyperflashing only on the right signal (during normal use). Put the load resistors on the tails this morning and so far no issues. Everything looked good yesterday - but the lesson learned is to test with the engine on, which I must not have done.

 

I'm not sure if it counts as something I did TO the truck, but I took some time today to laser scan my 2019 TRD Pro. I mainly wanted to capture the undercarriage, so I put it on a lift and did about 12 scans underneath it. Once I wasn't paying for the lift, I did a bunch more scans around the exterior, and tied the two sets together.

My goal is to be able to model against these scans to come up with my own designs for things like skid plates, cat guards, tanks, etc.

Weekend of mods #1:
First was the LOSTAR faux Pro skid plate.
(I will gladly save $250 for future mods over the OEM version)
Fought the install for quite a while due to the diff drop spacers that were installed by previous owner. Keeping the diff drop for now until I can upgrade the suspension. Still need to find some longer bolts and spacers.

 

Weekend of mods #2
Wanted just a little more thump to my speakers. Installed this 8” powered sub from Rockville in the rear double cab storage area. Inexpensive and fit my needs. Now realizing I need to do some sound deadening. (Likely next/ future mod)

 

where did you get instructions from ? I want to print it out as well .

So glad my SX came with no decals and no badges aside from 4x4 on tailgate. Did have to remove dealer sticker.

Spiffed up SR. I think details vary by year and color. Mine blacked out, no badges, 16" black anthracite wheels convenience package that includes keyless entry and the premium entire H/u. As others have said it's actually a nice budget upgrade to the SR. Also came with tow package. No SX decal on my MGM. Don't know if that's standard.Black fenders.

 

Cool, never could find much info on it, I spoke to a local guy with one and he swore it was a SR5 with the factory lift and off road goodies
