Saw two R1S’s last night. Not sure if it was some journos.

The SUV has some nice approach angles and looks much better than the pickup. One had the off road tires and wheels—which predictably kills the battery range.

The headlights are still ass ugly.

There will need to be more power generated. Which has already been said by both energy producers and regulators.

There will be greater demand for electricity when more house holds switch to ev. Auto rentals are switching to electric, commercial carriers, and municipalities including emergency services. This will dramatically increase electricity consumption.

All we need now is hundreds and hundreds of miles of solar panels and we should be good to go.

We have dramatically increased electric use with electronics coming to everyone's home since 1970. The infrastructure has handled it pretty well with little investment. When they need more they'll upgrade and charge everyone for it. It's nothing to be afraid of. Remember when phone booths went away? Your cell phone battery was going to die and you would be stranded. That rarely happened.

Phone boths were great, now where are going to go when you have an emergency and need to press #2?

Probably a good think phone boths are gone they'd be occupied by squatters these days.

I always see people working on the power grid, it requires constant maintenance. Many high tension aerial lines also have high pressure nat gas lines buried under them. Autos could easily burn nat gas, as they could electricity.

They’re working on it. Solar farms are going in anywhere there is open space around here. Also building solar structures over parking lots and adding them to a lot of commercial building roofs.

No man, I live in a rural area and never see EV vehicles. I don’t pay attention to that stuff. It’s crazy looking lol.

I’m in that boat too. I saw one in a parking lot a couple of weeks ago and Google’d it. I’m sure they are super cool but I didn’t like it. To each his own.

Finally saw the F-150 Lightning today. Might not be as good technically as the Rivian, but it certainly is more visually appealing. Never would have noticed it if it wasn't for the taillights.
