That sounds great, he brings your shop work, allowing you to practice with the small stuff even more, you to get even better at it by default. Tell him we give bulk discounts, but not if you drive a Ford lol

    Yes. New poll.

Saw some vest earlier and it made me remember I don’t wear them. If I’m cold enough to wear something, my arms get cold wearing a vest so I just wear a coat.

I just popped in, saw the poll, voted no, then remembered that I have a heated vest that is really nice for wearing under a coat in a tree stand. :anonymous::rofl:

I wear one as part of my layers most of the time over top of my light jacket.

The temperature needs to be below freezing with no physical activity .

    NO.

EDIT: Growing up, I had an awesome down filled jacket that the sleeves zipped off of. That thing was awesome. However, I only removed the sleeves for mobility. I wasn’t fond of doing that otherwise.

I did not count the wearing of the visible safety vests that seem to be mandatory every place.

I just wore mine all the time at work. They soon become the normal and no longer stand out on job sites.

That would be the primary, the yellow end you’re seeing is the end of an automatic, which is a splice. They are color coded, the color is attributed to a certain size of wire. Here I have no idea what yellow equates to, cause this isn’t my normal type of work. I really don’t know why they have us do this because we work in substations not on the lines unless there’s a storm emergency but I was happy to get the experience.

Ah, butt splices… didn’t think of that. I thought maybe some sort of line anode or dampener. I assumed high ground/neutral, but noticed the isolators. Thought might be some new practice/standard. My dad was BIG power PE-EE (offshore structures/vessels, plants, airports, stadiums, etc.). He was a lineman in college. So most of this comes from seeing, learning and doing his redraws over the years. Of course, I’m NOT an electrician, but I’m always interested in learning things.

No vest required today - high of 76!

The wind was howling last night, there isn't a leaf left on any tree around.
It was a nice day for the final cut/leaf mulch of the season.

I had a trash/box pile and wind blew most of it in neighbors yard. Picked up and made a pile, lit it on fire.

Wind moved here today. Has to be pretty sustained at around 40mph all day.

It is nowhere near 76, though.
