    I got 4 tons of pellets on special at Tractor Supply in August.
    About $275 /ton IIRC.
    Nothing else would come close to that for heating this big ramshackle house.

    No natural gas lines out here.
    We have a propane furnace for backup, but I only run it occasionally (mostly to verify it still works).
    If I had to heat solely with propane, man oh man... :spending:

    My budget is $300 a month for fuel right now . Heat and hot water . I have over 4 cord of firewood for the woodstove so hopefully we won’t use much more than 275 gallons .By spring time I will be in the positive for me with the bill !

    Since I have an existing fire place, I could always look into a wood or pellet insert with fan. Might be something I could look into for next year...

    I’m pretty sure ours was around $2k then it was $900 for the heavy gauge stove pipe installed up the flu with a chimney cap (cage) so no critters get in . I have an outlet right next to the fireplace :thumbsup:

    The electrical is no issue. Those fans don't draw much, so I have options to tie into. That and I do all my own electrical for the most part, well except for the panel swap I did back in April.

    Electric bill here is $158 a month , too much . 2 years ago $89 then $129 now $158. I called the electric company and they just say the price per kilowatt went up . Fuckers . NY :mad:

    Yea mine went up over 40% back in the summer. Average bill with the AC was $150.

    Doesn't compare to what mine was in Mississippi. Usually around $400 a month in the summer with the central AC and pool pump going... o_O
