What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I’m 60 and I’ve been eyeing a future delete. Lol.

 

First real post. 2021 Army Green Access Cab TRD Off Road. I bought it two months ago and I have been lurking and looking for the last two months. Along the way I have done a few mods and today took a bit of a gamble. Up to this point I have built a bed slide, added a tonneau cover and today added a set of predator steps just deleted from a 22 Access Cab. Leather seat covers and a leather cover for the center console lid. I have been looking for a shell but have not found a used one yet. I am looking for black as I think I am very unlikely to find one color matched to my Army Green. I would really like an RSI smart Cap but am not likely to be willing to spend the money on one.

I was looking for a tent arrangement and did purchase two Tent Cots. Today I was looking and found a very off brand RTT. It is a DAC brand. I can really only find truck bed tents referred to in the advertising and reviews. Well, I went to look at it. When I arrived they were removing the shipping material. The RTT is brand new, never even opened. And what do you know... The Aluminium shell is Army Green. It was meant to be. $500.00 later, it was on my trailer. Now I need a shell or bed bars to get it mounted. Things are shaping up.

 

I'm 71, blacked out the badges but no way I am going to spend big bucks to black out head and tail lights

 

Nice! What seatcovers are those? Look great! What tonneau cover did go with?

 

The seat covers are Igee's. I have used them several times. Can be found through a simple google search. First used them on my Corvette and really liked them.

I have always liked the horizontal led running since rivian prototypes came out, I think they were the first? As of now I'm thinking about trying to move my driving light up there though, haven't really decided.

 

Will the Billie Bars work with the Tonneau Cover? It is very similar to the factory cover.

Installed multi-color LEDs in the footwells (max setting in the pic). Red is default to keep with the accents.

Thank you for that advice. I think I tried the Home Depot sound deadening method under the headliner on my last Tacoma. Worked OK but I have nothing to compare it too. I am looking at using Noico matting. Priced well and not full of brand name logos.

 

Installed two protective mods this week. Weathertech mud flaps and Toyota door sill guards. Since Toyota doesn't have a factory option for SR mud flaps, the Weathertech flaps seemed like the best option. I'm very happy with the fit and look. The door sill guards went on easily enough and will hopefully protect the paint. Now to figure out what the next thing will be.

 

I have a few years on you...and I'm selectively blacking out chrome. My opinion: (a) It's your truck, keep what you like and change what you don't; (b) with the non-metallic paint + black overfenders + black on the bumpers the chrome looks out of place; (c) it gives more of an OR appearance.
On my truck (Lunar Rock color) blacking out the emblems and derping the chrome rear bumper caps made it look so much better. But I'm not going to worry about the vent rings and steering wheel logo. And with all the winter crud it's terribly hard to keep any chrome on the exterior except a bumper looking decent.
If you love chrome, keep it. And since you have the metallic paint I think it looks just fine.
