Thank you for that advice. I think I tried the Home Depot sound deadening method under the headliner on my last Tacoma. Worked OK but I have nothing to compare it too. I am looking at using Noico matting. Priced well and not full of brand name logos.

 

Installed two protective mods this week. Weathertech mud flaps and Toyota door sill guards. Since Toyota doesn't have a factory option for SR mud flaps, the Weathertech flaps seemed like the best option. I'm very happy with the fit and look. The door sill guards went on easily enough and will hopefully protect the paint. Now to figure out what the next thing will be.

 

I have a few years on you...and I'm selectively blacking out chrome. My opinion: (a) It's your truck, keep what you like and change what you don't; (b) with the non-metallic paint + black overfenders + black on the bumpers the chrome looks out of place; (c) it gives more of an OR appearance.
On my truck (Lunar Rock color) blacking out the emblems and derping the chrome rear bumper caps made it look so much better. But I'm not going to worry about the vent rings and steering wheel logo. And with all the winter crud it's terribly hard to keep any chrome on the exterior except a bumper looking decent.
If you love chrome, keep it. And since you have the metallic paint I think it looks just fine.

I’m actually not sure who started it. I was inspired by a mock up of an EV Jeep I saw somewhere. I do like the solid look though that a lot of the EVs are doing.

Has anyone tried these yet for the bumper caps? Would like to get rid of the chrome bumper caps, these guys offer genuine oem caps and painted to match.

46 here. The SR comes with very little interior chrome. The steering wheel emblem, the 4X4 switch, and the cup holder surround is all if I recall correctly. So what chrome there is was just out of place. Chrome isn’t a bad thing IMO if done right.

 

Sorry, I haven't used them. If they can paint in a controlled environment I'd guess they turn out nice.
I considered just covering my chrome caps with these from Chromestoppers but they didn't have my color. So I just spent part of an afternoon and an $11 can of Plastidip and blacked them out myself (and I have no car painting experience). It's peelable paint so if I ever want to go back to chrome I should be able to. Lots of how-to videos.

I got aftermarket MGM caps from Ebay and they're fine for looks. Amazon sells them too. In hindsight I probably should have gone with a full aftermarket bumper as the entire rear bumper is cheap plastic.

I don't know how easy they are to find in your area but the older fat tire bikes are a blast for your style of riding and area. Look for Yamaha big wheels or Honda Fat Cats. They can get pricy as they have a cult following, but they will allow you more time in the seat with your weather. I have an 80 Yamaha that I will never part with. 3 speed clutchless with neutral, nothing but fun.

 

Update: it’s rained a TON here over the past couple days and it’s kept my bed completely dry the whole time

 

One of those would be pretty sweet, this little coleman is surprisingly capable. I can go 50 mph, its light weight, has a torque converter, good traction, low to the ground, the only thing I wish it had was rear suspension.... with the hard tail, many bumps turn into sack slappers where you butt comes off the seat, then the seat slaps your nuts real hard when it comes down again.

I really want a Rokon though, but that price tag is huge.
