Wow, #1 prime; that's like the holy grail of wood, and you found it at a box store. That's downright shocking! I don't think I've ever found anything better than grade 2.
I just bought some wood for a new chicken coup. I had to dig to find semi strait would with minimal knots in a #2 prime bundle.

Good morning everyone, truck goes in for service this morning. Bumming a ride to work with the wife. Y’all be safe out there.

 

One of the guys I use to work with had a deck built a few years ago.
Apparently the builder had a big table saw at his house and he would run the joist lumber
through the saw and straighten all the lumber to a nominal batch size if it was to far off.
When I built my garage cabinets I had a hell of a time ,like you, trying to find something relatively straight. It sucks when “close enough” is the best you can do.

Good Monday to you all. We survived another weekend, and for most of us, another Dipshit Savings Time fustercluck clock resetting.

 

Company I work for is HQ'd in Milwaukee. We have a major manufacturing site in Mequon. Saturday night, it lost power, along with thousands of other WE Energies customers in that area. I handle Major Outages for my company, so I was on a bridge call for some time for that outage. One of the first questions asked of the site Manager was "Did the generators kick in when street power went down?" Site Manager: "Well, we don't have generator backups for the manufacturing floor, just the offices." Everyone on the bridge: So the office portion, which is only staffed Mon-Fri 8-5 has generator support, b ut the manufacturing part, which runs 7x24x365, and makes the money for the company, isn't worth spending the $$$ to provide emergency backup power to....... I feel like a Weesa table flipping moment coming on. We have manufacturing facilities all over the world, but this one is one of the more critical. I wonder how much the 18 hours of downtime cost the company. I'll bet it was a whole lot more than some industrial generators and fuel storage would be

Our manufacturing division is the same.have generators backup for some stuff but not the floor equipment . entire IT Dept.for the whole company is here and it cant go down.and not sure how much power it would take for the floor. example-we have incoming power coming in to sub station for each line in an area only 2 electricans are qualified to enter and work. one sub went down last week for a binding line. one of the qualified guys just passed away. had to wait for the other to come in.im not an electrican but its a crazy amount of high volt,amp power coming in.

Good morning guys & gals! A little slow and stiff this morning after spending 3 straight hours blowing leaves at mom & dad's property yesterday. No work today, it's beautiful outside, and gonna enjoy my 62nd birthday today!!!
