Kurt, Thank you for posting the photos.

The electric vehicle conversion on that Subaru Brat has my mind racing. Clean three-phase motor, but still has an overflow tank and small radiator?

It has my mind racing. It seems like a lifetime ago since I was involved with EVs. Still a great mental challenge for me as that installation is commercial, but
I can not remember who made it. My old Dodge Dakota was our "test mule" for the EV programs. http://evalbum.com/121.html

I wanted to know more. It was next to the 39 Ford, and I talked with the guy in a Subie sweatshirt along with the older gentleman, until he finally said it wasn't his - he didn't know much more than we did - other than knowing the folks that did it!

    Two questions and a comment:

People actually trailer their stuff to this show? And then leave it on the trailer?

I can't believe you didn't get a pic of that rolling shit show in the background. Or at least the air freshener hanging off the rear view...:rofl::rofl:

Just looking over the pictures, the two radiators are a transcooler for the transaxle, and a heat exchanger for the voltage regulator on the motor... that would also allow for heat possibly...

There always seems to be one dragster on a trailer, by the entrance every show. I don't know why. You could show up and ask them. :D

Gear Oil Price stick shock! 75W85 Redline GL5 $90 a gallon. Ouch!

Preventive time to refill front and rear diff's.

    Front differential carrier assembly:

    1.45 to 1.55 liters

(1.54 to 1.64 US qts, 1.28 to 1.36 Imp. qts)

Rear differential carrier assembly (for BD22AN (SP Long Wheelbase)):

    3.95 to 4.05 liters

(4.17 to 4.28 US qts, 3.48 to 3.56 Imp. qts)

    Transfer case calls out 75W.

1.0 liters (1.1 US qts, 0.9 Imp. qts)

Time for 3rd oil change (approaching 18,000 miles), so I figure diff fluid oil change. I have a little off-throttle whine, so I want to drain the fluid and inspect while I still have warranty time.

I see this is a dead horse on the forum but I’d like a more local opinion. Are SL tires or E rated tires a better decision for our terrain here in Central Texas?
I’ve always had full-size trucks so E rated tires weren’t really a second thought.

E rated is an LT tire and SL is a P tire. E rated will have thicker sidewall, so less prone to punctures from sharp rocks, barbed wire, or mesquite thorns

It will also have more rolling resistance and of course be heavier, so your mileage will suffer some.

New rims on the Tundy. Went in for a new set of tires whoknowshowlongago, and it took a replacement set of tires and two sets of rims to get it rolling smooth again. I only paid for the first set of tires.

Haven't determined that yet, unfortunately. The second set of rims, after DT scratched all 4 of the set that came with the truck, were junk. DT bought me these, and I paid 4WP to mount them. The rims are now good but still have steering wheel shake. I'm taking it in to 4WP on Monday to check the alignment, tie rods, etc. and if it still has issues, I'm going to ask/tell DT I need the tires swapped again.
