EoTech had a rough patch that really has ruined their reputation. Here is the main points from the lawsuit against them

    Well, there's the fraud thing....

The sideways battery in the XPS was also supposed to be the solution to the recoil battery cutoff issue in the 512s.

Does this have the classic vortex strobe issue on dim settings?

I believe the early gen 1's had a blooming issue when it was turned up too high. I'm not aware of any issue associated with the gen 2's.

Had vortex in the past and haven't been impressed. I have a prism sight by them I like but haven't liked there dot sights. I also think they are still having battery drain issues.

Heard Holosuns are pretty good, haven’t gotten my hands on one yet, but I’ve only heard good things.

There's nothing wrong with Eotech. The issue has long since been fixed, and was only something people using their optics in extreme environments experienced. Is how Eotech handled it shitty? Yes absolutely, but that doesn't mean their products aren't good, or take away the fact they've been reliably tested in numerous real world applications for years. Whether or not you want to boycott them is up to you, but most companies have done something at one point or another to piss people off if you go far enough back in their history. Just my 2 cents.

This is what I had thought, that they fixed the technical issues. The only other holo sight I was aware of was the vortex, which also has its share of issues.

My advice would be to go with products themselves that are tried and tested, and not worry so much about the company itself unless they happen to do something to personally wrong you, or cross some ethical boundary of business you can't live with.

But they didn't fix shit. They just erased "paralax free" from their specs.

You can "whatabout" fraud, I suppose. Not me. I boycott a lot of stuff.

And you're totally cool with fraud committed on the US govt by a corporate conglomerate mega DefContractor.

It's bizarre that the 2A community gets heated up over all kinds of minutia, but nobody gives a shit about the Eotech debacle.

So don't buy their stuff then? Not sure why you're bitching at me about it.

I'm not bitching. However you literally wrote:

    "There's nothing wrong with Eotech."

This statement is literally incorrect. So I corrected it.

Every optic has some slight variation of parallax depending on condition, and the issue with leaking seals has been fixed for a long time. Again if you don't like Eotech, like I said above, don't buy them. Simple as that. But that doesn't change the fact they're quality optics tested under conditions well beyond what most of us normies will ever experience.

    Right.

And if you're cool with giving money to a company that defrauded the US govt and potentially got service men killed, go by 10 eotechs.
