I just bought a set of Maxxis Razr’s in that flavor from simpletire. No weight required to balance and they work super well. Not very loud either.

This tire talk has got me all hot and bothered. And the 35X10.5R17 Kenda R/T's are on sale at Walmart right now too.

    Must resist

    Also, a 35 in a 10.5? That's sexy.

I think Nitto has a 35x10.5 casing too if you were interested in their stuff

That's the problem. $ are tied up in that right now. I was figuring tires would be a spring purchase.

Right now I have the 33x10.5 Kends and have been more then happy with them. So figured why change and just get the larger size.

Ive been looking at wheels for a while now but there always seems to be one issue with them that makes me not get them. So I have a question about the SSW Stryker wheels. they are 17x9 wheels with a -25 offset. So currently I am running the stock 16" rims with 245/75r16's and I am wanting to upgrade to 265/70r17. I really like these wheels but I am wondering if that -25 offset is going to be much and cause issues with rubbing. I am not totally against doing a little trimming but I dont want to do anything crazy like a CMC. I am also curious about how far these wheels would stick out. If you guys could give some input that would be great.

This much offset will push the tire out about an inch beyond what stock is with that 265/70 tire. Here is a useful tool for visualizing the changes that I got from another page here on TW:

I didn't finish... it will probably rub. Those spec at a 33, but being out so far might make them hit-not a size I am familiar with with that offset. I currently have stock OR rims with 255/85 r16's and they do not hit, but... can't say if they were out a bunch.

Ditch the Nittos. Worthless tires these days

Kenda's are junk. Never met a set that a customer actually liked. We stopped offering them because of their lack of QC and absolute dog performance on wet roads.

No one is interested in Nittos. Don't balance well, seeing a LOT of warranty returns on tires out of round or lugs completely chipping off at 5k. Almost as bad in the rain as Kenda's.

Just remember the farther out You push your wheels the more strain you put on your steering components.

It's great you come in here saying this is junk and that's garbage, but you very seldom make a recommendation. If you're in a position seeing what customers like and are buying you should have some insight.

Not trying to be a prick but a lot of people are looking for tire info in the forums.

With that, like I mentioned I've been very happy with my Kenda RT's. No issue with wet traction, well unless I get into the boost lol.

I've enjoyed my Nitto ridge grapplers for the past year - all sorts of conditions, terrain, and speeds without issue. They're a bit on the heavier side, but at 91lbs per wheel/tire, not a bad set up for 35s.

Being wholly owned by Toyo, I'd hesitate at saying the entire brand is garbage. That said, I'm a case study of one and can't speak for others - as mentioned above, not trying to pick a fight, just stating an opinion.

I've only had three brands of tires for off road use and am interested in learning more over time. What brands would you recommend?

You must be new here :D

I talk about Falkens nonstop. Best AT tire on the market, hands up or down. I've also sung the praises of Firestone Destination ATs as being surprisingly good for a budget tire, and I talk a fair amount about Yokohama and Toyo open country being excellent tires for long life, well balanced, and fairly priced.

Then there's the newer Goodyear's (post Cooper purchase) as well as Coopers.... Heavy hitting, mud slinging, 60,000+ mile truck tires. Fun stuff.

Older Nittos were the bees knees. The QC since 2020 has been dreadful. For every good set we mount, we warranty at least two of the tires in the next set. Idk if Toyo just owns them or actually has a hand in their manufacturing, but the QC with Toyo still seems to be present.
