What are you streaming on Amazon, Netflix, etc?

It's based on Anne Rice's vampire novels, Interview with a Vampire and to some extent the second one The Vampire Lestat but it's more of an adaptation to turn it into a series.
Imo these characters do a far better job of pulling off Louie and Lestat than Pitt or Cruise did with the movie adaptation from the 90s. Sam Reid is killing it in the Lestat role in this one

In the books the two are in a relationship both while Louie is alive and after he's turned, so I don't know why he was rambling about the sex scene. In the books they have all kind of preternatural super powers. Levitation, speed, ability to fly, immortality etc

 

I hope they extend the series to cover the Queen of the Damned book, because that movie in the early 00s was god awful

 

Tried to watch Seal team on Paramount and couldnt get past the first episode. Just really boring to me

 

The relationship they had was never sexually based it was a different kind of love and obsession based more on companionship. They weren’t ever really gay or straight but something else and that’s completely missed in the series. Louis was also a plantation owner in 1791 not a black pimp in 1910 so it’s not a different version of the character it’s a completely different character all together. If they wanted to take the same concept and do it with new characters I would have really enjoyed that because there is nothing wrong with the show as far as acting or production quality but if your going to use ones that have already been done you should have some respect for there history and origins. That’s what makes them who they are. I also wasn’t ranting about the sex scene I just said it had my wife rolling. She’s a big Anne Rice fan and didn’t care for it at all either so I guess each to his own.

 

That's fair, it is heavily adapted from the story but with a great deal of detail changed with Louie in particular. Overall I always felt like this world Rice created was better suited to a series rather than movies like before....too much to try and cram into a 2 hour timeframe. Which is why I always thought the movie fell so short even though it was well received.

Overall I hadn't been too put off by the changes vs the book, but to be fair I haven't read those books in over 16 years now. I do think they casted Lestat's character really well, he's the type of dude I pictured him being.

Louis' character in the show took some more time for me, mostly because I still see him as Grey Worm from Game of Thrones

Young rock on peacock. It’s cute and has some laughs and I use it as a background show while working.

I do like the rock though as he just seems like a good guy

Just started Outer Range today. Beautiful scenery, crazy plot.

 

Looks like the Boys just started dropping the other half of S3. The latest two episodes get a little too blunt with drawing parallels to uh, certain things, but between that and the ultra gore there's still a story. I think.

 

Haven’t seen any new episodes on prime for season 3 last one it shows is episode 8

I’ll give it another try and try watching it with a different perspective. Maybe I will find I enjoy the story of I watch it without preconceived notions of what I think it should be, because I have always enjoyed the Anne Rice stuff.
