QC on most things has degraded since 2020. Heck even some of the expensive electrical switch gear that we get looks like a 2 year old assembled it. Where it never used to be like that. Companies doing more with less and tring to keep up with demand.

It's just unfortunate where global manufacturing is at currently.

Look at this thread for stock offsets.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheel-specs.30754/

I'm also pretty sure a -25 offset wheel with a 265/70R17 will rub without some alignment magic.

I'm running 265/70/17 right now with General Grabber ATX in C load range and I love them. Very quiet, light, relatively inexpensive compared to other offerings, and has met or exceeded all my expectations for what an AT tire should do. Don't just take my word for it - @OldSchlPunk is also running them.

No two people will have the same experience with tires so take all the suggestions here and elsewhere with a grain of salt. Most major brands will be fine but some have better track records than others. Anyone saying a specific tire is the absolute best tire ever no questions is full of it.

Stock 3rd gen wheels are 16x7 +25mm offset, same as stock 2nd gen wheels [source info]. 25mm is about 1 inch, so a wheel with -25mm offset will stick out 2 inches further and certainly past the edge of the fender flares. Depends on what style you are looking for if that is desireable or not.

My current wheels being SCS BR6 17x8.5 -10mm offset stick out more than 1 inch further and line up flush with the fender flares. Had to remove front mudflaps and front air dam on 2nd gen but 3rd gen might not have to, you guys seem to have a tiny bit more room.

Edit: Reference photo of how far a 265/70/17 pokes out on the aformentioned 17x8.5 -10mm wheels:

I thought when I bought my Falkens that they were 60,000 mile tires. While I do like them quite a bit, they’ll be in dire need of replacement by 40,000. Is that normal?

I couldn't get these anywhere. I ordered them then two days later, they cancelled my order without telling me because "the guys in the warehouse couldn't count".

They ended up being able to send me the X3's for the price of the ATX's. I'm excited to see how they are in the winter.

Ive got Falken AT3W’s on the dually and they will breeze past 60k based on the wear so far at 30k. Mainly highway miles but I’ve been grossing 26k lbs pulling the gooseneck for more than half the miles put on them so far.

Yeah I had a similar problem ordering them, but mostly because I tried to buy locally and most local independent shops by me are morons. Even buying online I think only TireRack really carries them. Equally as odd, General's own website doesn't list all available sizes and you have to get an indie dealer to call them or punch into their computer for it to show up.

I'd be very interested to know how those X3's work later after you run them, and yeah especially how they work in winter. I really want to try them in the future if I change to an MT or if I get my Jeep working.

They're definitely one of the top choices. But, heavy as fuck, occasional balancing issues, not the best tread life.

Plus, there are a few other newer tires that look like they could dethrone the precious Wildpeaks.

I went with the Toyo AT3, and am pretty impressed so far.

They're not known for having the best tread life. But, they should definitely exceed 40K.

Being an MT, they might be hot garbage on packed snow and ice. They should be great in deep snow, though.

That offset looks like perfect it just seems hard to find a wheel that I like that has everything that I am looking for. I am hoping I will be able to maybe get some wider mud flaps because I don't want to be scratching up my paint with rocks since I have to commute down a gravel road every day.

Just noticed you have a '15, you're gonna need to remove front mudflaps for sure unless you already have aftermarket UCA and moved the LCAs forward for clearance.

Once you get clearance from all that jazz there are aftermarket mudflaps from several vendors like Rekgen, Rokblokz, etc.

Who knows. I picked GT after the XOverland series on YouTube. I would hope they are better than my old Duratracs.

nope just a fully stock tacoma suspension wise. Thats why I am thinking now -25 isnt a good idea. I kind of wish some wheel companies just gave you more options when it comes to offset and rim size.

A good tech can get the wheel forward with the stock LCA cams etc. The big issue is if there is enough for how for out they are. You will clear the UCA with this. @wi_taco clears, but you will be out further on those rims... about 2.17 inches from stock per the site I gave you.

    So. Many. Stickers.
That's pretty early. At 55,000 I replaced my Falkens with larger Ridge grapplers :bananadead: they still had easily 10 to 15K left in them. And that was after they were wheeled and driven all over the country and even into Canada

Eh, everyone down here runs their wildpeaks well into the '50s. If not '60s. They are on the heavier side but that is true. And Toyo AT3s are fantastic tires

A good tech should be able to get your caster up to around 4 Even on stock. LCAs

I'm pretty impressed with the Toyos. If I had known I was going to get MT's also, I'd have ordered SL's. But, the C's are doing really well, and surprisingly quiet.

My next set will probably be SL's. I'm looking at those new Mickeys, but it might be hard not to get another set of the Toyos.
