Gotta say, the skid plate (or lack of) makes a huge difference on how much I like the styling or not. Gold wheels though

90 hp at 9500 rpm, 55lbft torque at 7250. 270 degree crank 755cc. 21/18 wheels. 458 lbs "Kerb weight" which I think is wet, full fuel tank.

I would hope. Just wondering if they'll undercut the Tenere or go at the same level. I'll stick with my CB500X plans, but I have a taller buddy that might like the TransAlp if it's not super spendy. If it is the same as a T7 I think he'll just get the same bike as me.

Kinda what I figured. That's the T7 range. Unless the TransAlp is just amazing, I think it'll only get hardcore Honda fans buying it over the T7.

 

Missouri any trails out here are atv trails and get destroyed by then or side by sides so they are not fun for someone getting into it tbh… plus I’m out in kc there are some trails you can run about on but not many at all

 

Haven’t been able to ride the bike lately so I took it when running to the store real quick was some good short fun now we wait for the rain ugh

T7 is still very primitive on the technology side, and that's the differentiator IMHO. I think you'll see a split among people that want basic basic technology that can't go wrong (T7) vs. people that want apple carplay and all the bells and whistles (Transalp). And let's not forget everything else in the middleweight ADV space right now.. BMW F750/850GS, KTM 690/890's, Aprilia 660, V-strom 800, KLR650, yadda yadda yadda

Edit: also 74hp vs 90hp. Not insignificant, either.

 

If it has cruise control, it will be better than the T7

 

Everything in the midsize isn't directly comparable, though. Take the KLR for example, it's not comparable to the T7 because it is so much cheaper, and it'll never handle 80 MPH as well. Very different purposes there. Similar gulfs in usability and price are all throughout the 600-900cc range. I do think you are correct that the V-Strom 650 would be a closer comparison than the T7 in capability as far as off road/on road bias. Others like the BMWs aren't competing purely on price. They have different competition.

 

ya and suzuki just released the new version of their bike as well and would you believe it they changed the design!

Yeah, exactly. None of them are really directly comparable to each other, IMHO. Blanket saying no, they're all gonna get a T7 isn't a valid statement, in my mind.
