From the factory it does not have a valet mode. What makes you think it is in valet mode?

Some trucks of that year had the karr alarm system factory installed. Mine has it. That said I’ve never used it or messed with the valet mode or anything.

What are your problems that you are giving?
Is it just that the alarm doesn’t go off when you open the doors?

    If so, mine doesn’t either.
There is no Alarm on these trucks is just an Anti-theft system.
Manually pushing the panic button is the only “Alarm” there is.

Only if you want and “Audible” alarm when the doors are opened or glass breaks.
The factory anti-theft system is pretty good for what it is.

I'm pretty sure the alarm will go off if the doors are opened or unlocked without the key after the truck is locked with the button or fob and the delay time has expired. At least that's how most factory alarm systems work.

If I remember right, if you lock the truck with the remote but then unlock the door from inside (reach through window), then open door. Then there is an "alarm" that is similar to the panic button being pressed. Though, that may have been a different vehicle in my past. So, that may be worth trying and seeing what happens.

On most vehicles it's typically only a few minutes between when the doors are locked and the alarm is "armed" but I've never tested it on mine, I guess that's another "experiment" to for me to investigate:rofl:

I’m currently at the gas station.
I don’t want to look like a fool out here with his alarm going off.

I work at a gas station. You'd be surprised how many people lock their car while they stand next to it pumping gas.

And then their kid pulls the door handle to get out and the alarm goes off

And then they stand there for waaay too long trying to figure out how to turn it off

Well it must take longer than 2 mins.
Window down, lock doors, wait, open door from inside. Nothing.

I’ll wait longer and see what happens?
But I’ll wait until I get home.

    Nothing after 15 mins.
My truck doesn’t beep when you lock the doors. I know later models did, so there may be variances in the systems between years.

All I know is, mine doesn’t do anything if you open the door from inside with the doors locked.

And I even got out just to be sure the SRS didn’t have anything to do with it.
