I was running the pink 01-04 injectors, till they failed and I put the brown ones back. I did had an AEM FIC 6 with a good tune on it, but it had problems with backfiring/ignition timing when starting cold. So I took it off.

I have the 7.5 PSI or 6.5 PSI pulley. I don’t quite remember. It was made by Underdog Racing but it’s discontinued. Most boost I’ve ever seen it do was 6 PSI. CHANGE YOUR VACUUM LINES! All of them. Zane changed some of mine I missed when I went up there and I couldn’t believe how much better the SC performed, it wasn’t struggling. Vacuum leaks will mess it up.

The methanol does cool the charge air, but as a liquid it helps seal the rotors better. This is usually the purpose of the Teflon coating, but mine is so worn out that it wasn’t doing much in sealing anymore.

The 4-cyl supercharger is made by a company called Alpine in South Africa. I think LCE licensed the design from them. Here is my setup.

Can you drop down to midgrade or regular gas with the methanol kit, or have you still been running premium? Wouldn't take long to justify the cost of that AEM methanol kit, if you could run regular gas with the SC.

No, still have to run 91.

You can run -20 to -40 degree windshield washer fluid with a high concentration of methanol instead of the specifically made
Boost Juice snow performance makes. I loaded up on the stuff in Washington because it’s not sold in California. Way cheaper. You can even cut it with HEET to up the concentration.

Or you can buy pure methanol from a speed shop and mix your own 50/50 solution.

Ya seems that the only pulley options now are the LCE high boost and low boost ones. I looked, but URD doesn't seem to make any compatible ones for the 2.7sc from what I could tell.
Would be nice if someone made a silicone vacuum line kit for the 3rz.

I wonder how much of a difference doing a meth setup would make on my low boost config with no tuning.

I guess I didn't mention it, but when I was putting on the spare in the pouring rain I hit one stud that was binding up hard (not cross-threaded me don't thinks) and I was ready to get out of the rain so I just cranked the hell out of it... the tire shop guys who mounted the Yokohamas called me over the second they pulled off the lug and saw the stud was whittled down to a spike where the outward 4-5 threads should be. I shrugged and said I knew I messed it up and I would replace it (their mechanic was out until Monday and they weren't about to touch it).

^^Long story short, I replaced a wheel stud on Sunday and I got a new HF Ultra Torque today so I tightened all the lug nuts to whatever its auto setting torques them to.

Not sure if I've posted about it but I finally got a metal ext driver handle so now my handles match and are both extra sturdy. As it sits now, it is driving great (clutch and engine wise) and the tires handle and sound fantastic compared to the 11 year old BFG beef. I need to replace my cracked radiator with the Denso that I have sitting in my tool room and need to put on these axle shims and remove my carrier bearing drop to hopefully fix my 25mph and 55mph vibes. I recently changed jobs so I now have a ~40mi commute and it would be nice some days to take the truck so I know I have my xcab full of tools just in case.

I don’t think I’ve seen the 2nd Gen bed rails put on one of these trucks, that’s pretty cool.

Thanks! Yeah big assist from Devin at Camelback Toyota wholesale parts helping me source the right rails and hardware. I’ve seen a lot of guys DIY the uni strut rails because it’s a similar extrusion, but I wanted to make sure I would open myself up to the market for the OEM bed cleats and a lot of the aftermarket accessory mounts and molle panels

Meth/water cools the air yes which makes it denser so more oxygen. That's what the water does. The meth increases your octane content of your fuel. Which means it helps fight detonation basically which can be important in boost applications.

I remember chatting this up with @BartMaster1234 a long long time ago. I think the consensus was the rail felt way to thin and bolting up to it just wouldn't support a great deal.

@Overland_Architect, looks clean! Nice work. Can you share how it's bolted up to the rail? Any reinforcement used?

Gotcha. Right now it works good, but I wonder if detonation issues will become more prevalent in the summer heat. I know that superchargers don't do well with heat and will create it when under heavy load, i.e geared up going up some mtn passes

Yeah they do a lot of heat soak from the friction. So the water part helps them a ton. Especially since it doesn't have an intercooler.

If you want to up the boost(smaller pulley) then the meth will help a lot.

I found going up mtn passes, well most passes at least, it got better just because the air became less dense. I had my SC truck in Phoenix which is hot as a MF, but going toward flagstaff about halfway up I stopped suffering from as much timing retard from ping.

Ya for now I'm looking to mostly just mitigate the heat with meth, but then also help down the line when doing high boost.

Ya that makes sense. Resulting in a richer afr since the fueling can then keep up with the air mixture at that point.
