they are not common, but can be amazing

super disappointed in the one I opened last night, I feel like the bees were living on a lavander farm, so much perfume taste I had a hard time finishing it. Hoping that flavor was all settled at the top. If you get rid of that note it probably would be amazing 120 proof, zero ethanol with tons of honey and a touch of oak.

Saw that in Onslow stores. Label won't say who made it. Always makes me suspicious.

I’m a big fan of EC. The Costco near me sells it for $26.99 and I always have one open. I’ve had a few barrel proof’s and enjoyed them. I finally found a toasted barrel that wasn’t priced crazy. It’s fantastic, I was shocked. I would choose it over the barrel proof any day. If y’all can find one, grab it and enjoy.

Alright, on another bourbon hunt in my travels and found a rarity that I was after and bought it only to read through the thread afterwards and realize I paid a bit more than I should’ve…dammit.

Tonight I came across a Knob Creek 18 Year, something else I don’t see back home. The price was $249 so I walked but I’m trying to figure out if that price is worth paying or just move on. It was at a little hole in the wall store and he only had one.

Do you guys have a site or somewhere you cross check to see if prices are reasonable? I’m from a controlled state where the prices are set but the selection is limited so I don’t have to worry about the set prices.

I’ve got a couple bottles at home, couldn’t agree more. One of my favorites.

This site seems to check out, but I am no expert on the matter.

Man, that’s what I want but the prices only seem realistic for the easily findable. Even the -findable with a little effort- seem way underpriced, for example EH Taylor SB is $40. Buy them all and double your money with no effort, triple with little. But Eagle Rare for $30 isn’t far off at all. I just need a 2022 list. Thank you for this, it does help it just needs an update. Midwinter Nights Dram is showing $80, I hear in 2022 it’s $150. Just needs an update on some is all.

Another thought would be a shared Google excel sheet with a link in the threads original post, for easy finding. Everyone can update it with known prices around the country.

This is all you need. Literally a list of retail prices in a controlled state:

Looks like I should pass on the 18YR for $249.

You bet. You can also see warehouse stock on that site, which may or may not be an indication that something good is getting ready to ship out. You can also theoretically order something if it’s in the warehouse, through a local store, but they won’t do that obviously for allocateds and even some non-allocateds but harder to get items. My local store doesn’t require buying a whole case for an order, others might.

And I think $250 is too much to pay for KC18.

im a fan of knob creek but the 18 is overpriced and underproofed. You can get store picks for 1/3 the price that are 12-15 years. Cool package but other than that it’s underwhelming in my opinion. Just like Elijah Craig 18

On standby pending some election results. I’m in NY and for the first time in my adult life we have a chance for some Freedom…. But we will see. I’m hoping to crack this bottle to celebrate.

I was in an international market today and wondered into a side room where they had all the liquor. Most of it was on shelves behind the counter, so I couldn't get a better look at these to see what they contained. All that gold played havoc with my camera. M16 or AK 47?

    Good morning, and…pop quiz, hotshots.

How many of you can explain the meaning behind the Maker’s logo shown here (contains coffee only, for the record) without looking it up? Extra credit: why “Maker’s Mark”?

Also, happy Weller Wednesday. Who knows when this will ever be opened.

One more thing, happy day after the election, no more political ads for a while unless you live in GA, Wednesday
