It's pretty fun to play through stuff you made yourself and the ability to repair things is a nice bonus. I like it.

Wife bought me a hanger. House is temp/humidity stable so not worried about that. Being outside the case I'll pick it up more often. Got some new strings I need to wear out.

I keep all of mine on hangers too. I have a humidity guage to keep tabs, and if it ever goes too far wayward I'll at least case up my acoustics until back in range (primarily on really bitter cold winter stretches)... But vast majority of the time, they're all in grab and go mode.

I love those hangers. I have a few in my studio, totally agree, you are more likely to grab them when they are in the open like that.

I'm an idiot. If you look closely I mounted it upside down. Easy fix anyway... probably too many shots.

I keep mine in a stand. My cat would take one of those hangers as a personal challenge.

Anyone know what Mike Judge used for his tone on the Beavis and Butthead theme? I believe he used a Gibson Explorer, but can't figure out what amp.

Right, I just found out. I rememeber as a kid there was this dude in the mall that would play the theme on guitar. I thought he was a god haha! Anyway, I finally got around to learning it and found out it was Mike that wrote and played it. Dude is awesome. If you ever see that show he did called "tales from the tourbus" watch it. It's sweet.

Still want to know what he used. I am seeing the theory is a Tweed Deluxe.

To my ears it sounds more Marshall/Plexi'ish; there is a little bit of that loose tweed sound, but sounds too compressed for a tweed deluxe, so probably just playing a higher powered amp through a low power speaker.

Hard to tell for sure though, who knows what effects or post processing it might have gone through.

    Agreed.

I just tried in on my Fender Super Sonic 22 and it sounded pretty good IMO. Burn channel lots of gain playing my LP with a p90. It's a pretty fun song to play actually.

Any one try the angled switch plate on a Telecaster? I found one cheap and figured why not.

I apologize if this is the wrong thread, but it made sense to post in here. Has anyone here had a good experience with Musician's Friend actually delivering on a backordered item?

To make a very long story short, I inherited a vintage 80s Marshall JCM800 4x12 cabinet from my late cousin. I'm not much of a player but I can bang out power chorded pop punk with the best of them. I decided I might as well use this as an excuse to upgrade my setup and hopefully force me to start playing again / more. After a bunch of back and forth reading I settled on a Marshall SC20H. I figure I'll never need a 100W head, but the idea of "matching" the amp to the cabinet is appealing to me. MF had a really good 0% for 36 months, 8% back in points and Marshall had a buy an amp, get a free MS-4 amp, so I jumped on it.

The first amp that was shipped to me was absolutely a floor model unit from the local Guitar Center. No manuals, I'm not even sure it had the power cable with it and nothing about it seemed like it was worth "new" Marshall money. I had read horror stories about this online so I immediately called and started the return process. This was on 09/15. I spoke with a sales rep who put me on the list to get it from their warehouse, thus guarantying it would be new stock. I was told it was currently on backorder but they had a large shipment coming. I was told it would be shipped 9/19, 9/29, 10/20, 10/30, 11/05 and now 11/16. Due to some BS with the return of the old amp I had to pay a portion of it via my private CC and not theirs so I keep seeing the charge authorize and then fall off my card.

I've read many a grim story of 6-9 month backorders with the order ultimately being cancelled. I earned $140 in points which per MF don't become available until 45 days after the item ships but they will expire 03/24/2023, so if the amp isn't on its way by like 1/1, I'm SOL. My plan was to dump them on a Boss SD-1 and a Boss DS-1 for laughs. I'm hoping someone on here has been through this with a decent story to tell that everything worked out in the end.

The shame is after being SO excited to order the amp now it's been long enough I'm almost over it and now am regretting I am spending nearly $2,000 on something that I'm likely never going to be "good enough" to appreciate.
