    Next update-

Another roadtrip, which i feel is 1/4 of the fun (then figuring out the how to, and executing the task is probably 1/2 the fun, with another 1/4 getting to use the item).

This roadtrip was to focus on the camping side of things, and took me about 4 hrs round trip plus loading and cleaning, because it friggin unexpectedly snowed the whole way home!

A Roofnest Condor XL, an AluCab 270 Shadow Awn, and a Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform (which i decided not to use because of the added weight).

So the Roofnest went on my trailer, and got snow and road salt thrown all over it on the way home! That was not cool!!

Can anyone confirm (or otherwise) that Monroe 171371R & 171371L, complete strut assemblies will fit a crew/double cab '15 tacoma sport.

Amazon says "this item does not fit (my) truck", but almost everywhere else says that's what I need.

Also, on amazon, a different brand with the same model # (Detroit Axle) says "this item does fit (my) truck".

It makes no sense. I'm leaning toward the fact that, regardless of brand, those part numbers DO fit my truck....but just curious if anyone has any more knowledge of that.

    Thanks in advance :)

EDIT: Also curious if anyone knows the difference between 171371 and 181371. Of course amazon says neither will fit, but I've seen both numbers elsewhere.

Why not just buy new take-off strut assemblies from a 3rd gen. Best value for front assemblies. I put 2022 Off Road assemblies on my 2008, for $150, and the ride is amazing with the benefit of being level. Mine had less than 100 miles on them. Read the Amazon reviews. Seem to be mixed for Tacoma but apparently the part numbers are correct.

As stated slightly bend out the mounting tabs to fit the new tighter lower shock bushing. The bolts will pull them back in place when you torque them.

I've been looking, but my ability to buy online is limited (no credit card or bank card...don't necessarily want one lol). For Amazon, I can go somewhere and buy AZ gift cards for cash.

The take offs are my first choice, for sure.

Having a cc from best buy, I don't know why I haven't gotten the totaltech membership yet. I am always purchasing things from there. Maybe on my next big purchase (need to update our 12 year old tv), I'll join. Kicking myself cause I just purchased a new headunit for my truck. I think the $200 price tag is what scared me away. lol But it pays for itself really. The installation is free regardless if youre a totaltech member or not on certain items though. Totaltech gets free installation on all products I think. Not 100% sure though.

When they installed my radio, they didn't charge for anything extra. Just as long as you buy or provided all that's needed for installation. Like for my headunit, when I added it to my cart, it asked if I'd like to add the harness etc., which I did and you make the appointment for installation before checking out. Only extra they charged was installing a backup camera that I have bought from a 3rd party.

Thanks all, long story short I had been looking for some kind of small lift and someone locally had a new RC 2 inch leveling kit, but didn’t have the rear shocks. All in all I got everything for the price of a set of shocks basically. The front went on easy and even tho it’s a simple process, the only downside I found was their instructions are wrong when it comes to bolt head size. The last lift I did was on my 99 two door XJ and the Tacoma was much easier it seemed. I sent RC a message and they said the bushings were wrong and they would send a new set. It took maybe a couple minutes with a blending wheel and they went in like they was on rails. I did a lot of reading and saw both pros and cons with this kit but from what I see it’s 100% better than stock. Rides better, handles better and even tho I’ll probably have an alignment done, it seems like this kit is well worth the money even if purchased at their price.

On a side note, about the only pain in the neck in the whole process was the tie rod nuts. Rusted to the point the keepers and the nuts had become one piece :)

Finally got around to finishing up my DIY bed stiffeners. Mistakes were made but I learned quite a bit about welding, angles, design, etc. I finished just in time to throw on my cap for winter.

Done by me: decals, plastidip, and vinyl. More to come. Not done by me: Icon front/rear suspension; Total Chaos UCA’s; Method wheels/34” Falken tires; Prinsu cab rack/LED light bar; V1Air compressor piped to a 2.5 gallon underbed tank; Pelfreybilt front/rear bumpers; Smittybilt front winch.
Went to swap out the HAM radio that came with my truck for a GMRS and found out the way it’s installed, I’m going to have to pull the entire center console lol.

completed my oil change over the weekend. Had a fumoto on my truck for several years. Buy the tube adapter and hose. It makes the process even easier and cleaner.

Finished up my intake relocate after fender trimming. Although it looks cool, and solved the whole dirt from wheel well issue, I feel like I lost some pep changing over to the new design.

Im looking at doing the same type of intake for mine as well. I've seen the other mod where you route the intake tube through the fire wall and under the wiper cowl.

I looked into that option but there were a few drawbacks I read about (in reality I think the couple issues I found were more from improper execution of the mod), and I didn't want to cut a 4" hole in my firewall. This scoop is drawing in the clean air from the front of the truck ahead of most of the dirt being kicked up. Hoping the ECU just needs time to calibrate the new air/fuel mixture, but the difference is almost imperceptible.

BTW selling my old set up.

Nice job. Although I can't help notice you have Toyota's Super White paint peel. Do you have any plans for that? Don't know what I'd do If I was facing that on my truck with Super White. Leave it, paint it or sell it....
