I took the center caps off my Sport wheels to plasti dip the chrome Toyota emblem on the cap. After doing this, I like the look of the wheel better without the center caps I have now because it makes the wheel look a little more recessed.

I was like searching around and it doesn't look like anything exists, but folks on this forum are very creative, so I am wondering if there is a different center cap that fits my wheels that is lower profile/more recessed. One that sits more flush with the hub and doesn't stick out like an outie belly button (the ones I have now).

I can't just leave the caps off because the wheel looks too "Unfinished". Especially in the back where you can see the drum brake cover.

I removed mine too. I also spray painted the rear drums black to protect the drums from rust & dirt. Looks better too.

Thats funny, I just did the same thing, but I painted them green to match my AG. I thought the same thing too once removed. That it looked kind of good. (dont know about you but my caps were an absolute B***H to get off)
But once I painted the emblem and put it back on, I liked it much better. And I only went green, so since youre going black, it will make a big difference. I think just removing that small part of chrome in the middle makes the whole wheel look a little more recessed. Youll see what I mean once you get to it.
Of course, if you just want to remove altogether, you could always derp the hub....but I still feel like that might look unfinished for our sport wheels. Would look good on some basic steelies IMO tho.

Also, I had an order in for those Wildpeaks and ultimately cancelled cuz I got them thru Amazon and didnt want to run into problems with balancing, etc. Chances are I wouldnt, but heard quite a few stories of folks having issues with tires from Amzon, Ebay, etc. Decided its best to go to a tire shop.
Didnt see many pics of them on a stock sport with stock sport wheels like yours. Could you post a pic or 2 a little further back so I could see how they look with the whole truck?
I want better traction in the wet than the stock Toyos will provide, but I dont want to have too aggressive of a look on an otherwise stock truck. Just wondering if might be overkill for my needs. I know...blasphemy! :D

The 2020+ Sport wheels are much nicer. I'd paint the drum and axle end and leave the caps off. The whole setup will look great once you derp the wheels.

Someone on here bought a set of the stock front hub covers (whats under the center caps) and glued them to the rear drums using JB Weld if I remember correctly. It looked pretty clean afterwards. Cant find the original post

Aggressive tires are never overkill. Pics of mine below. The pics don't do justice, it changed the look of my truck in a big way IMO. Go for it, you won't regret it.

I live in Florida, so wet traction is important to me too. But we all know that my family's safety comes second to looking cool. But seriously, I have heard the wild peaks are good in the rain too. But if you really want great wet traction, consensus is to go with Michelin ltx at2. Michelins are great tires, but they just don't look aggressive enough to me.

I wondered about that too. Because I could live with the look of the front wheels with the wheel caps removed because the hub has this nice black metal cap.

The rear wheels with the stupid drum brakes are what looks bad without the wheel center caps. I was wondering if I could order the stock front hub caps and attach them to the rear drums.

Spray paint those rear hubs black. They’ll look way better!
