No, it just proves that some dealers (most) are best avoided.

IMO, It's only a rip off if you don't agree to something. If you do agree, and then later decide to do your homework, well then that's on the customer.
A rip off to me, is when we both agree you are providing A for $X, and you instead give me B for $Y.

Having been a tech at Toyota I can say you are better off doing all your maintenance yourself. They tend to hire the cheapest labor possible in the lube bays.

Took the truck in year's ago for front/rear diff and transfer case gear oil changed out... got charged for 11qts when it takes 6. Brought it up with the service manager and all he could come up with was... well, sometimes they take more. I haven't been back. :annoyed:

It depends on your dealer. They will rotate my stock size Duratracs as part of Toyota Care but would not look at my axle (even if I paid out of pocket) to investigate a noise in 4hi because I have 6112 Coilovers. So, YMMV, but I think most dealers don't want to deal with anything outside of the ordinary, even if you're paying out of pocket for it.

Dealers make their money in the service department not in sales. When sales are slow it's the service department that keeps the place afloat.

Harbor Freight for floor jacks. (3- 3 1/2 ton should suffice)

The dealer I worked at rotated the tires regardless if they were aftermarket or not. The only reason they would give not to is if you have keyed lug nuts and no key in the vehicle.

I just want to make sure it goes high enough to lift the whole side of the truck and do 2 wheels at once.
