For my on the road vehicles, it's patch only. Lawn mowers and the such will get plugs...

 

When I bought my Duramax, the guy did landscaping and put a hard rake through the sidewall. It had 4 plugs in it. He told me about it cause it leaked down about every 2 weeks. After about 6 months I went and bought a new tire cause I got tired of checking it.

 

Same here. It's easier, more convenient, and (in my experience) just as reliable.

 

This may or may not have gotten a plug for an amount of time.

 

I think that is close enough to the top I'da plugged it too

 

Knock on wood, I've only ever had 2 tire issues (not counting a slow leak in the Pilot).

The first was a 2" bubble in the sidewall so that tire had to be replaced.

The other was in the Highlander earlier this year. Brought it in, had it patched and it's been holding like a champ.

 

New end of the season, new cash bonus for the kid, $619 this time.

I've seen my dad on more than one occasion have a bubble on the side of a trailer tire and stick the tip of his knife in it to let the air out of the bubble and continue running it

Boss man ordered this material 2 weeks ago, I finally got around to the job. I got to looking and ask him how many pieces he ordered. He said let me get the cut sheet. We were looking at it and I said you have to double what that says, there’s 2 of everything. He’s ordering more

I had my tire patched this morning, but I’ve been trying to figure out when and why I stopped plugging tires.

 

Prolly the free, shitty coffee.

That's how they get ya.

 

Never heard of those.

 

Had 2 cups of that this morning! It took almost an hour to get it fixed, from lack of employees. Plugging it would have taken 5-10 minutes.

Glad I’m not the only one.
If one of my tires gets damaged and I have to replace it. I’m replacing all 4.
Can’t be riding on one new tire and 3 old.
