That isn’t possible in the Dallas area. They all got greedy and the distributor, Gulf States, is a prime driver. The dealers will tell you to your face they are at MSRP. Then you look at the sticker and there are $6000 in high profit unwanted options. They don’t don’t even offer free Astroglide with the deal. All you get is a smile.

 

I remember those interest rates. Bought my first house in 1985.

 

At least around me there are record numbers of manual Tacomas. These are usually 1 at every 3 dealers at best … now at least 10+ manual trd pros at locals dealers (NorCal)

Gulf states is like Southeast Toyota’s evil twin.

They push so much aftermarket garbage on trucks and expect to get away with it.

When the FJ cruiser first came out you could buy one for $25,000.

My local Southeast Toyota dealer had an “FJ crawler” with like $5000 of ARB shit on it selling for $60,000.

Now they just sell a bunch of TRD grilles on SR and SR5, Tacomas and 4Runners and call them “predator” models or some bullshit

Bought a pack of cookies the other day.
Before Shrinkflation you used to get 3 sets of cookies with 4 cookies each.
Now you get 2 sets with 3 cookies each.
Same package - higher price.

There was another package of cookies I bought where you used to get x number of items in the package.
The middle row was short 2 cookies. The first and last rows had 6 in them but only 4 were in the middle row.
Of course they re-labeled the package so you couldn't see that.

I've been watching for about the same time but with a smaller radius. Trucks are sitting. Not a lot of inventory arriving. A lot is "in transit." Some decent trucks at decent prices not selling. I wonder if the stimulus money has just washed through the system.

 

Talk about shrink flation look at the 3rd gen Tundra compared to the 2nd gen.

I didn't spend mine and it's worth more today than the day it was printed, but I can't buy as much with it today, and what ever I buy there's less in the package.

Maybe not 2020, but there was another disbursement in 2021 and some states gave tax rebates in 2022. Money flowing like brandywater...

 

Bought my 23 almost 3 weeks ago, dealer says they only use Toyota Financial, came back at 8+ percent on my loan...Refinance at my local bank today? 5.5%...I believe there's company's taking advantage. Shop smart folks.

 

yes but what a lot of people forget about that time and those rates were people paid 50-70k for a house at 10%.

 

Thats nuts, I waited just shy of 11 months to get a 2022 DCSB OR in manual which unfortunately didn't have the tech package I wanted but life goes on. During that time they only had one other truck come in which I passed on due to it being white lol

 

Test drive a RAV a lot before deciding if you like it or not. My in laws have one and I can’t stand the thing. You’d think it would be a Tacoma-like SUV but Toyota knows their audience with that thing and it’s a very different vehicle.
