Nah, look at his last pic with the truck and the AT. I think what would really set it off is gold wheels because that would really show well with the amber fog lights.....:poking:

I read this as people who want to actually offroad vs people who want to look like they offroad.

From what I can gather, the Transalp has 8.3" of ground clearance, 7.5" of travel, and a 33.5" seat height. The T7 has 9.4" of ground clearance, 8.3" of travel, and 34.4" seat height. Both have low seat height/susp offerings.
My little Rally has 10.9" ground clearance, 10.2" of travel, and 34.8" seat height.

Now with either of those, I'd have to adjust the seat height like I did with the Rally

For me, since I already have the Rally........my next one I'd like a bit more road orientation with the look of off-road :D

I honestly wouldn't complain with either the T7 or Transalp. I dig both of them.

Yeah, not wrong, they would probably be on opposite ends of a dirt to street spectrum. The adventure part of adventure bike means different things to different people for sure :notsure:

    I mean yeah, same haha.

Oh for sure. It's like the guys who have their RTT's on their truck year round but go camping maybe 5 times a year. *SHOTS RING OUT ACROSS AN ENTIRE FORUM*

Really though, I like the idea of less electronic nannies and more offroad capabilities while still being comfortable enough to drive long distances. In the end it's less about the bike and more about the rider. A dude I know is proof of this. He ran the same course I did on Sunday on his KTM 950 ADV that I did on my FE350. But admittedly for us noobs, having the lighter bike is probably the only reason I survived.

I have zero dirt experience and at my age the desire to gain that experience is seriously tempered by the anticipated cost of the doctor visits that would likely be incurred. That said, I wouldn't mind at all adding something adventure oriented to my stable. For me the biggest adventure would likely be fire roads or unpaved roads somewhere, often 2-up, to explore more of my home state or even other states. I'd more likely get a Super Tenere with cruise control and tubeless tires where I still have comfort and long distance touring in mind than a T7 or the Transalp.

You just triggered so many people

It's amazing what some riders can do. I follow this gal on Instagram and she just did a 1000 mile desert rally on a stock tiger 900  And like a year and a half or two years ago she could barely walk. It's wild.

33 degrees was my low temp and that was less than one mile from my work. There's a small creek with a bridge passing over it and that's always the coldest spot for me. Had to turn up my heated jacket liner a little.

Well, you folks do have Barber Motorsports down there so that's certainly worth a visit.

The rest of my gear arrived, everything fits well and nice quality. The jacket color is florescent red and actually pretty bright in person. The back and chest protectors from my old jacket were still in nice shape so I transferred them over, not as fancy as the newer flexible nucleon armor but equally as protective.

Nice gear. Those vented boots are the bomb. They actually work as intended.

I was looking at those gauntlet gloves but I ended up with another brand regular size. Didn’t want to go with the longer glove for street.

To my understanding, you only need things safety wired if you're racing, not just doing a casual track day? But maybe you are doing this to race so IDK.

I am unfortunately pushing my first ever track day out to spring. Still need to buy a clutch cover for peace of mind and a real strap on back protector, not a jacket insert. Weather's been all over the place lately so I think it best if I just save my funds for early/mid spring when it's sunny and dry again, and i've bought the necessary gear, and replaced tires/brakes

I was looking at Sporttrack time.com. They want minimum safety wire on expert/intermediate. But I just realized I have no license so I would be novice and not need it. I have an email out to my shop to see if I can get serviced in time. $700 for leathers and more for boots may be the holdup so close to the holidays.

Thank you, can't wait to go for a ride. STG recommended them for being more protective than some of the more expensive full gauntlet gloves.

And good luck with your track endeavors! That was a goal of mine to get back there this year but that didn't work out
