Do you have rim width and air pressure for those measurements?

Lost close to 1" with the weight of the truck?

This is a good question. @Buttskevin21 Do you recall your measurements?

    Stock-ish
Yeah most tires lose about an inch with tacoma weight.

I think mine measured the same 34.75ish on 17x9 wheels at 30 psi

Thanks guys for the info! Happy to say my 255/85r16 Yokohama G003 MT's are the same height and width when mounted. Unexpected but very cool. Seems this is as big of a tire as it gets in the skinnies whether they're called 35's or not. Haha!

Edit: Take this with a grain of salt- I was called out and need to verify!

I went from Toyo MT 255/85R16 to Kenda RT 35x10.5R17 and I can attest that they are not even close to the same size. You can slap 255’s on any stock Tacoma. Fitting 35x10.5’s takes cutting and hammering.

I thought the point of the 10.5 was to avoid cutting and hammering?

However, I'll double check my measurements. I know the height was close, but cross-section width might be slimmer. I'm trying to remember my measurements I took 6 months ago. I'll report back.

On that note: I wish they made true skinny 35's for 16" wheels.

10.5 just requires LESS cutting and hammering

These tires are much larger than a 255/85r16. I had 33x10.50r15s which are a pretty close comparison to the 255’s and my kendas dwarfed them by easily 2”, as was expected going from a 33 to a 35.

I've seen it mentioned in a few other threads but has anyone here actually stuffed one of these in the stock spare location under the bed?

I'm wondering if it's worth it to have one of these as a spare for a 35x12.50 setup or if I should just get a 34 spare and deal with the small size difference.

I've done all the mods to fit a 33 under there (with a small bit of room to spare), just looking for experience with this size since it would be nice to have a matching (ish) diameter skinny underneath for clearance. I also have hammer hangers, which I've heard can be an issue as well.

It fits. Rubs the diff a bit but it fits.

Awesome, thanks for the pic. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Do you carry it deflated? That's what some Gladiator owners do to stuff a 37" under the bed.

I think I did deflate it when I first put it in there. Stock hangers allow more room too.

Because these tires need to be ordered online, I ordered 5 tires but keep the 5th one at home. I use a 32" spare under the bed. In May, I cracked a rim on the trail and drove 200 miles home holding the steering wheel in the 11 o'clock position. It was doable, no ABS/VSC messages, adaptive cruise control still worked.

I'm confused as to why the tires needing to be ordered online has anything to do with the spare being kept at home.

I think he meant that is why he ordered 5 online, but keeping the spare at home because he didn't try to fit it in the stock spare location. The difficulty driving with an undersized spare was more the point of the post maybe? I thought I had read that the Kenda will fit if you chop the exhaust at the axle and move the mounting point back a bit to avoid rubbing the diff when flexing as long as you aren't running aftermarket leaf shackle hangers that get in the way.

If you have a puncture with this Kenda, you won't be able to find a replacement in stock locally. Therefore it's advisable to have an identical spare at home, even if you don't carry an identical spare on the truck.
