Motorcycle Chock for Bed Rail System?

We take a couple dirt bikes every weekend in my friend's Tacoma and it seems we're always stopping to straighten the wheel of one of them.

Doesn't somebody make a chock for the factory bed rail?

It doesn't seem like a tall order. I don't want to have to ask my buddy to drill any holes etc., that's why I'd think somebody makes this, but I can't seem to find anything.

Wow guys, thanks for the quick responses. I looked at these and conceptually really like them, but do these attach to the stock bedrail system? I assume these require drilling? Seems like there may be availability issues too.

you can make them attach to the stock rail system. it would take a little ingenuity but very possible. I would take a piece of 1/2" (or whatever the width of the rail) 3/16" thick flat bar. cut 2" long pieces and drill and tap them and slide them into the rail for mounting

 

Yeah, I use a MotoJack Rack myself, but with the price of gas, we started car pooling. Makes it great for the ride home - I just pass out.

i could probably fab up something that fits in the bed and is held in place by the weight of the bike and holds the tire straight...

 

I totally get it. I'm going to study this, considering what Ryan's saying too about the vertical placement.

I stuff my bike in the corner and doesnt move. Use two straps to the front hooks like normal and one attached to either side to the middle hook. I wish I had a pic but the third strap is the key to it turning.

 

those go between the lower "crown/ triple tree" and the tire. they turn together so that wont prevent the tire from turning.

 

yea, i just use a piece of 2x4 lol works fine and is cheap to free lol

i dont have an issue with the tire turning on my bike. Generally if the tire turns its a good indicator the straps are either too loose or to close to the bike. Im just throwing ideas out there for the OP on his request on ideas. a small steel framework with some verticals will prevent the tires from turning. hmmm ideas ideas

 

Yup I use one as well notched it out and painted to match my bike. No blown fork seals here!

 

If its just two bikes put the front tires pointing in touching each other. They will hold each other in place when the tie downs are tightened.

Ya that works too. Either way you still get the same outcome. Two bikes and no tires moving.

 

Not a rail mounted system, but very effective for me.





$30 at harbor freight. Mounted on a 2x4 and bolted to bed.
