I stand corrected. I was thinking about a front spacer lift...

Most definitely. Even the OEM Off Road Bilstein's ride much softer than the Sport's stiffer ride. Not sure if it's the 17" low profile tires or not, as I've never driven in a SR or SR5, to compare.

But ya, the 5100s get rid of the brake dive, and yes I find the 2/1 lift the least problematic. This is why Toyota offers it.

i had a 21 SR5 before i got my 22 Sport and the SR5 ride was HARSH. The Sport is a huge improvement but Im looking for something slightly softer if possible....with a 2/1 lift

    I should correct myself now

Bilstein 5100s ride softer than sr5 and Sport suspensions. I think going from 16" 245/75/16s to 270/70/17s is what's more noticeable in drive quality changes. Larger wheels and tires makes it feel less floaty on the road (to me) and feels a bit heavier

I did the factory lift kit and really like it, I wanted the lift and grille and got it done for less than 2k. I would check around on the price as it was all over the place. I got my lowest bid and my dealership beat it. The truck looks so much better with the lift and drives great. I added some Falken wildpeake AT3w, trucks looks totally different for the better! Good luck

I installed the TRD shocks and a Wheelers Offroad 1.25" block for $550. The reason I used the TRD shocks is because the 5100's were not available anywhere, but totally glad I used the TRD shocks. I'm always puzzled when someone says the TRD lift costs twice as much as the 5100's while comparing 4 Bilstein shocks to the whole TRD kit that includes a grill, sensors, brake line holders, shocks and a block. If buying just the shocks, both are good shocks for the money and cost very close to the same, the only difference is the lifetime warranty on the Bilstein shocks. I would guess that most people that install the Bilstein shocks never use the lifetime warranty anyway. Just my 2 cents worth.

Ok, I read through most of that mega thread regarding this issue, and I've decided if I can talk a dealer down to $2500 I'll probably go with it.

There is a part number for the TRD lift kit that does not include the grille, garnish and TSS sensor. It's a lot cheaper. Unless you have to have the grille.

Are you running the stock 265/70R16 tire size? I'm thinking about getting the TRD lift kit and run the 265/75R16 size tire. These guys have the suspension part of the trd lift kit for sale.

Yes, these are the stock 265/70s, I will probably go to 75s when these wear out

Has anyone had this installed on a 2019 or older? I know it isn’t supposed to fit, but the dealership told me that was because the grill supplied with the kit won’t fit a 2019. Seems like that would be easy to work around by supplying my own pro grill. I need to keep my TSS working, so this option is pretty appealing to me.

They fit all 3G Tacoma's. And come with a new TSS sensor that is for the PRO grille. I put one on a 21 two weeks ago. And have installed several on older Tacoma's. (18-20)

    Truck looks good!

The fog light delete is a state by state thing. Some do not allow fog lights on lifted trucks.
