I’m attempting to replace the sway bar bushings of my 2010 Tacoma. I did replace the suspension earlier this year so it is ~2in higher than stock. Is it better to keep the truck on the ground or is it easier/better to lift the front of the truck off the ground?

It can help a little if the vehicle is on the ground so the bar isn't angled down. But the main thing is don't try to lift one side at a time

When I did mine, I'm pretty sure had it up on jack stands, wheels off.

Don't just go at it with an impact driver. Those bolts can get rusted in place.

I just did my front sway bar bushings on my Tacoma. I didn't need to lift it.. I just layed under the front of the truck, removed the skid plate, and replaced the bushings.
FYI My Tacoma is at the factory height as well.

If you lift the truck the sway bar will be under load. Leave on the ground and remove the skid and you can do it without trouble.

Doesn’t matter on taco. Either way works.

Thanks for the advice. Got it all done without an issue. Didn’t have to lift it at all

What’s the difference between aftermarket blue and red color bushings?

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
No need for bushing if you don’t run a sway bar. The more you know……

USUALLY black indicates rubber. Urethane is commonly red but I've seen black urethane available now. Really, the color it is could mean anything. The only way to know for sure is if you install them yourself, or you can see a brand or part number on it.
