Maybe. The fed isn't gonna pivot at 7 when their target is 2. Huge chance they pivot way before their target but if they haven't pivoted yet it doesn't mean much. Lookin like a bull trap

And we still haven't experienced the effects of the velocity that holiday spending could create. Not sure that would show up in .gov reported inflation rates, but there's gonna be a whole lot of spending on travel(+higher fuel costs to do so), food, gifts... . This would make sense at the end of Q1 23 or start of Q2 but now it's just gotta be a bluff

Haven't you heard? Christmas has been canceled Charlie Brown!

I don't see holiday spending being anywhere close to what retailers would like to see.

Travel might be busy post lock down. Weather will probably prevent a lot of people from getting to where they want to go, but they will have already paid for travel so no issue there.

Shippers will probably report the lowest volume since internet shopping became the norm.

Wonder if Amazon will run a prime month from Thanksgiving day to Christmas eve?

CPI is what the FED is using to base it's rate hikes on. When MoM comes in 33% short of estimates you can make a safe bet the fed will start to decrease the pace of the rate hikes. I'd bet the FED cuts back to .5% for the next hike. If CPI continues to come down they'll hold that until the target goal is met in mid-2023.

Sure, it's high. But the rate is finally slowing.

I don't disagree. I'm just saying that's what made the market go cattywampus today.

    I'm betting .75 still.

IDK man. In the last 2 weeks 3 of the 7 Governors already stated it might be time to scale back the pace.
