I just went and checked my logs (I keep a spreadsheet with every fill-up, yes I have a problem). In 2022 my highest full tank so far was 20.55mpg and lowest was 15.35mpg. Funny enough the best tank was the first tank after installing the new suspension/lift and skid plates. My worst tanks were all involving lots of slow speed dicking around in the woods and offroad.

Pat - I ended up weighing my truck that night we had beers at Deep Water because there was a scale just down the street and it was fresh from our conversation. With my camp loadout it was 5,400 lbs on the nose. Earlier this year before skids and new suspension it was 4,940 lbs. Getting chonky!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am a certified professional when it comes to installing the N2 designs remote start. I know there are lots and lots and lots of happy Tacoma owners that have it, I was one of the ones where it just wasn't meant to be. But I am now well versed in the installation lol

Gladly. To sum it up for everyone. I got the N2 designs remote start with the smartphone module. Installed everything per the directions. Worked fine with the fob but would never work with the app on my cell phone, which was the entire reason I wanted it. After some less than stellar customer service ( no responses to several different attempts to contact them although when I did get a hold of them they were very professional ) we completed an RMA thinking that the smartphone module was broken. After a lengthier than necessary RMA, installed the new module and it still didn't work. Tonight I was on the phone for 2 hours answering legitimately probably 80 questions and driving all over my town and rolling my windows up and down and patting my head and rubbing my stomach we finally came to the conclusion that I live in the Twilight zone because I have service until I get within one mile of my house and it immediately drops. In conclusion, everyone there is friendly and professional, and many people say their product is great, but I seem to have slipped through the cracks in more way than one and overall it was quite the hassle and let down but I will gladly install it for any of you that buy it for $20 :D

Well, since the N2 designs didn't work out, I'm going to go with the same one that I had installed by a place in town in my Tundra. It utilized the drone mobile app and worked fantastic with one potential deal breaker. For whatever reason it made it so my SOS button quit working. It wasn't a huge deal to me because I wasn't going to pay for it anyway. That being said I actually do want it and pay for it now with my Tacoma so I hope it doesn't do the same thing. I'm hoping since my Tundra was still an old fashioned key am I Tacoma is push to start that I won't have the same issue :fingerscrossed:

Also since I'm just airing out all the minor bad luck I've had recently, one of the four winter tires required a gargantuan amount of weight to balance and obviously has something wrong with it. I contacted the place I bought them from and confirmed what I already knew, that I would have to jump through a ton of hoops to get a replacement including shipping back the damn tire with no mention of sending one out first so I guess I would just have my vehicle sit in until the replacement came??? Anyway I decided I'm going to use it as the spare and buy one more winter tire and hope it's good. As a spare it'll be fine considering it only starts to shake really bad at illegal speeds otherwise it's manageable. One size up tire definitely looks nicer in the wheel well (though I wish winter tires had cool rugged side walls like all terrains do :D) and having my speedometer on is great as well.

Also, I know pretty much all of you are on larger than stock size tires, but if any of you know someone looking for 265 70 16s, I'm selling the kendas that were on here for a great price.

I know nothing about remote start but just saw this in the classifieds. Maybe something for you?

Both N2 and 12volt solution use the Carlink cell module. So unfortunately if the N2 didn't work at his house neither will the 12volt solutions.

I've had both setups and didn't have issues with either. So it's most likely that technology just doesn't like @Larry Dangerfield
