I’ve used WD-40 before with some decent results. But of course WD-40 is a lubricant, which brings us back to big oil…. What have I done?!

I've had good results removing pine sap from a boat cover using hand sanitizer.

 

I'm not the OP, but it is a ratcheting cargo bar. $25 and up depending on how good of a one you want (I'd not go for the lowest end); many available. I haven't bought one yet as I'm trying to decide between that and a bed mat. With the pace I've been going I'll probably end up with both.
