Where? Not around my area. Ordering on the 2023s was already filled and is cutoff.

That would be my best guess. Totally fine with it too. I guarantee it will drive better than the v6 does.

They are. It is a huge success for Ford.

I compare the Maverick to the Ford Escorts of the 80s & 90s, and those cars were everywhere. Wheater you liked them or not.

I'm still seeing more Santa Cruzes than I did before, but nowhere close to the anount of Mavericks I see, nog that I see hundreds of Mavericks on the road.

The Mavericks is definitely a unique vehicle, can't believe no other manufacturer has done anything ylto compete in the class.

Silence from Toyota. Which is normal for them.

GM has the new midsize, that they were probably busy with. GM is also focusing a lot of attention on EV trucks, you cant buy those and who is really in the market for a Hummer? Too many distractions for the truck engineers imo.

Ram, they should just focus on HDs. They're late to the EV space. Floated the compact Fiat truck. Where's the Dakota?

Nissan, don't expect much from them.

Honda, I guess a new Ridgeline is in the works. Do they want to attempt a compact truck? They do have the new CRV, that could support a compact pickup.

Ford, as usual knows how to design trucks package trucks, and sell trucks in the US. Even if the end result is less than desirable and can't deliver a product.

For 2022 the F-250 came out a head of the Tacoma in resale value.

    https://www.motortrend.com/features/best-resale-value-trucks/

If Maverick continues to sell well, I would think Maverick resale value will increase and could put the Tacoma at #3.

I also saw something about Toyota not being happy with US tax credits for EV.

Who is Kelley? I bet her book isn't even blue.

I forgot the Bronco out sold the 4Runner in September. I haven't looked at the #s for October.

Those internet consultant firms KBB or intelichoice or whoever say what ever people pay them to say. That's what a consultant does.

    but look at the numbers

Best Resale Value Trucks of 2022

    2022 Ford F-250 - 64.0 %

    2022 Toyota Tacoma - 63.5 %

    2022 Ford F-350 - 62.5 %

    2022 Toyota Tundra - 62.5 %

    2022 Ford F-150 - 62.4 %

    2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD - 61.9 %

    2022 Jeep Gladiator - 61.9 %

    2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD - 61.8 %

    2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - 61.7 %

    2022 GMC Sierra 1500 - 61.3 %

Those numbers came from somewhere. Did Intelichoice just make them up?

Are you saying that Tacoma dose not have great resale value?

Will the 22 Tundra not have a greater resale value than 22 Ford, Chevy, GMC 1/2 tons and Jeep Gladiator?

Sales numbers isnt what causes greater resale values, long term build quality and relability is the biggest factor. Remember cars like the Chevy Cavalier, Ford Escort, Dodge Neon, etc? They sold a ton of those but the values dropped like a stone after leaving the dealers lot.
The Ford Mavericks are currently selling because they are a new Hot Tamali and there is more demand than supply . They also have been having some problems with them.

The Tacomas have been in the top 2 in vehicle resale value for years now usually alternating between them and the Jeep Wranglers.

I dont know who Kelly is or why her book is blue but she must know something because more dealers use her values than any other source.

Itelichoice ranked the F-250 higher than the Tacoma for 22. I'm wondering if they are applying pricing from the sales of new 22 trucks. F-series HDs have been carrying a market adjustment. Including the 250, those trucks also have very expensive trims and packages, but they also have fleet sales which sell below MSRP, averaging down the nembers.

F-350 was just below the Tacoma, and F-150 was just below that.

The only take away is Trucks hold their value well. With Ram, and Nissan being the outliers used prices don't seem to reflect that at the dealer for Ram and Nissan.

The industry standard is Kelley because she say your truck is worth more from the dealer than if you sold it yourself.

I think trucks in general have good overall resale value.

The intelichoice report only showed a difference of a few points between their #1 and #10 spot.

Maybe this is reflected in their rankings, or maybe not. I would think the seller of the HD truck could have an advantage. Where the buyer of an HD, in this case used. Most likely needs the capability of the HD. That could be what is bringing up their avarage.

They could have gone with something a little bigger like 2.7l

A boosted 2.7 or 3.0 is what it needs.

I just bought my tacoma from a large Toyota dealer last month. The sales managers told me that the '24 Tacomas and 4Runners are switching to a 2.7L Turbo paired with an 8 speed transmission that they have been using on Lexus models in recent years. Both will still be body-on-frame utilizing the new TNGA frame design. They also know for sure that there will be a hybrid trim available for the 4Runner, but a Hybrid trim for the Tacoma is apparently still in the air.

No unibody (thank God), no diesel, no full EV.

What is the engine model number of the 2.7L?

    Thanks.

A 2.7l turbo would be great, but his information is likely wrong. All indications are that the new Tacoma will use the 2.4l turbo/8-speed transmission employed by the '23 Highlander.

Another factor is rental car companies buying entire fleets of Focus' Altimas etc. That cheapens a brand immensely. I know for a fact that Honda will not give any breaks to fleet sales, and I believe Toyota is the same. You either want a car that lasts, or you don't, is how the 2 big Japanese companies look at it.

Toyota will sell an indvidual a Camry if they drive for lyft. I guess they also finance through lyft. Lyft isn't a fleet buyer, and this might not be the way it's done through lyft any longer.

I may be mistaking 2.7 for 2.4. I do know that they said it had been used in the lexus NX and another lexus SUV for the last several years - so I think you are correct in that it is the 2.4. My bad
