It’s sound logic, I’m sure he drives around without a seatbelt on too. He’ll have time to buckle up before the accident happens.

 

I've tried convincing my uncle of this but he's worried about the kids at church somehow bumping him, or getting their hands on him in a weird way. I try telling him a good holster would prevent all that, but haven't won him over yet.

They'd have to get under his shirt and pull the gun out of the holster, which is why there really isn't anything for him to worry about. I think it's just cuz he isn't a huge gun guy so the thought of carrying one in the pipe makes him a little nervous. Should get him out to the range more so he can get comfortable drawing and firing from the holster.

 

I'm 160 pounds soaking wet, it makes me want to carry with one chambered even more.

 

I might gift him something like a Safariland GLS holster for Christmas so he can feel safe having something with locking retention.

I remembered that it is a pita to zero a 22 at 100 with no backer board and a 6" target. Even more so doing it unsupported and when it is 36* and having to walk up hill over logging debris to set and check the target. But, got it done in 15 rounds while smiling with every round as I heard the bolt close and the round hit downrange.
Set the target distance using my new Nikon Prostaff 1000i rangefinder.

It sure is! It’s my one handgun that I can shoot the tightest groups with, at any distance.

A few years back, one of the "school shootings" that Bloomberg's group used to fluff up their list was reportedly an incident where a uniformed cop somehow had a discharge of his holstered service weapon while in the gym at a grade school or elementary school. Entirely possible the official record on that one is bullshit though to cover for the cop doing something really stupid (like the one in PA on "career day" or something who pulled his mag then handed a Glock with one in the chamber to the kids to pass around the class).
