Is that a pack of four or is that individual?

 

I bought new ones for mine at Advance Auto Parts but only because I needed them quickly. Pacific P/N PMV-C11A, Advance Auto P/N 40005. Looks like the price increased now - these will work but you will pay for it (but still less than a Toyota dealer who charge like $100 per sensor, yikes).

Pacific makes the OEM sensors for Denso. Denso P/N is

$36 550-0103 TPMS 315-MHZ Sensor for Toyota/Lexus with Factory Alloy Wheel Options. (THIS SENSOR MUST BE PROGRAMMED BEFORE USE)

550-0103. I believe RockAuto has them for a decent price if memory serves me right. Other companies make equivalents, just make sure you get ones that are 315MHz and not the 400MHz or whatever units because those are for 3rd gens.

Quick edit: Also be cautious if ordering from RockAuto or anywhere else - there are two different 315MHz models available, one is for steel wheels the other is alloy/aluminum. Stem angles are different due to the shape/construction of the wheels.

Triple check your wheel type and what year your truck is. In 2020 they changed the TPMS sensor module so older sensors won't work on newer trucks. Although the new trucks can self program so you don't have to pay a dealer to techstream that shit

 

Do you mean from pre 2016? My oem TPMS sensors from my 2018 that were in my SCS wheels work fine on my 2020. But I did have to program them in With Techstream. Maybe that's the difference?

 

Based on @WiscoTaco4x4 's profile info they have a 2015 model just like me, which is why I mentioned the specific MHz thing. 2nd gen (i.e. up to 2015) uses 315MHz, 3rd gen (2016+) uses 433MHz.

None of the 2nd gens to my knowledge will self-reprogram the TPMS positions, you need to have the tire shop do it or buy a TPMS tool like I did but that's way overkill.

CORRECTION: I AM WRONG. Went back to find relevant links and it seems 3rd gen uses same frequency? Weird...I know 3rd gen TPMS don't work for 2nd gen and vice versa, but now I don't remember why if the MHz are the same. I'm missing something here...

 

Ah yes, keep forgetting he's 2nd gen. Two many conversations going on at once for my feeble mind to keep track of.

 

I just edited my post as well, I'm wrong. I can't figure out or find the right links/pages but I'm wrong on the MHz stuff. Now I can't find my old notes on the subject and feels like I"m taking crazy pills.

That being said I am absolutely 100% correct on those part numbers I shared because I'm running them right now and if they didn't work I'd have a big annoying light on my dash.

 

Could it be the range of the ID codes? Wasn't there a difference in the amount of digits or something like that?

 

That could be the case. Honestly I don't remember and I can't find the answers right now. Gonna bug me until I find it.

 

OK I did some more sleuthing and I'm out of time, have to do some actual work for a change...

Anyways all I can find is one line in an old post that says "3rd Gens won't work on 2nd Gens because of the ID#'s on the sensors are not compatible." If you search for parts on the parts.toyota.com website they are indeed different part numbers for 2nd and 3rd gen, and if you look closely the Pacific part number is different. So while they both operate on 315MHz, there is some other binary bits inside of the programming that stop them from working across generations.

A bit bizarre given they both have the same functionality, but like most other things in the world it was probably done so Toyota could earn a few extra bucks for service or something like that.

 

Nothing to do with earning extra bucks, and everything to do with having tighter encryption for less interference, wider programming capability (newer vehicles you can actually set your preferred baseline pressure, like when it's cold and such) and keeping things congressionally compliant.

I looked at 4xInnovations for sliders but 35.00 to pick them up? Got SOS delivered for 800 to my door 2014 ac, was told they will fit a dc(S)b

 

ACLB and DCSB use the same frames, so yes they will fit

I actually havent bought any TPMS Sensors yet because I just got back from school and the gym. We are going to mount the tires and rims and do all of that in my auto class. There is a tire changer and balancer. I am assuming that we have TPMS tool because our shop has almost anything you can think of but then again Im not 100%

 

Double check. Nothing like ruining the inner bead of a tire because it was mounted and un mounted and remounted 5 times in a day
