It isn’t worth fixing. Be glad it isn’t a $2500+ wheel.

You should be able to find an individual wheel on Ebay for a reasonable price. Might be easier and cheaper than a repair. Then turn around and sell the slightly damaged wheel.

    A) Do you have proof this was the fault of the shop?
    B) I'd be slightly irritated, but that would probably pass over a day or two.
    C) Approach the shop so you don't die wondering. The worst they can say is "No." Then decide if it's worth your trouble and proceed.

I'd also question if I'm going to let a scratch on a rim where I mounted A/T tires bother me. Seems incongruous; give the truck A/T's for that "tough truck image", but fret over a small nick? Be thankful for that first scratch and go get your truck dirty. Nothing in this world can stay perfect. Embrace it.

Yea, I get what you are saying. But to me, it is different if I am out there 4wheeling, slinging rocks and I damage my truck myself, vs. some careless tire installer.

It doesn't seem like you have solid proof that the tire shop did the damage. You should have done a more thorough inspection of your wheels before and after.

I have had a wheel or two scratched by shitty installers in the past, and I know it sucks. This happened at a time in my life when I valued material possessions more than I valued what is really important in life. It doesn't excuse the fact that somebody may have made a mistake that caused some minor damage, but may I suggest letting this one go?

Is this a scratch in the alu? Or is it just in the Clearcoat? Clearcoat is a simple and cheap fix.

I would go to the tire shop and ask them about it, they may be receptive, if they tell you to pound sand you'll prolly have a hard time getting anything for assistance on they're end.

Having said that I will throw in a sarcastic remark

I buy TWO of every vehicle, one to drive and one to keep in my glass house for folks to oogle when they drive by:D

Scratch appears to just be in the clearcoat. Thanks

My personal opinion is that you should just have a beer and chill. I could sell those wheels today for $400 and that is the going rate in Dallas for four OR wheels in pristine condition.

By pursuing this with the shop, you might get $50-100, but someone might get fired that really needs a job. Is it worth it?

Sucks I know, but we are not talking a chrome Gumby wheel off a Corvette here. 99.5% of the folks looking to buy your mass produced take offs are not going to care about that little nick.

Some of this Some of that
Do you have pictures of the wheels before the tires were installed? If not then you are really just guessing they’re at fault

How about cleaning the area with 91% alcohol and let dry, then get some clear polyurethane or clear coat and using a Q-tip dab it on just to seal the clear coat to prevent further oxidation of the aluminum wheel.
