Man, honestly, I don't like being messy and usually I try to keep shit tightened up but when you are doing 5 or 6 different projects at once it turns into a complete shit show quick and you have to succumb to the messiness or halt all progress.

Amen dude. I love organization and cleanliness as well but with so much going on and everything it’s really tough to stay that way. Kids, side hustle, your own projects, full time job. Not enough hours in the day haha

To finish my bumper, I just need to buy 2" x 3" rectangular tubing.

I just refuse to buy 20' and let 16' sit in a garage never to be used again....so that's my excuse for procrastinating

That 2x3 is the perfect stock to make tool stands. My bender and grinder pedestals are both made from some leftover 2x3 that I had. You’ll probably be surprised at how fast you go through it especially since you’re still feeling out your shop.

Oh I can definitely see it being stupid useful, but I used some 20' of 2" square tube (3/16" thick) that I had a lot left over.

However....maybe I could just make another table. I've got a 4' x 2' sheet of 1/4" steel plate sitting unused.

    Dammit @GHOST SHIP

I can't find a reason not to make another table now

I'll make it fit..even if I have little room left.

I’ve seen those from Rockler, but I still question their ability to lock in place with a 200 pound table, let alone the weight of whatever I’m working on added to that. Good reviews from woodworkers but not a peep from metalworkers.

You could also go with theatrical style wagon brakes. Used to use a ton of them on giant sets when I worked as a theater tech. Use normal casters, then the brakes lift the whole table. Whats nice about these is the ability to adjust feet height on the fly if you're moving around an uneven shop.

I put a set of those on my woodworking router table, and they work fine. I'm pretty sure the table is over 100 lbs.

You can order a 4' piece from Metals Depot, and they ship right to your door.

Sure, might be a little more cost per foot, but it allows you to continue your project, and not have to stare at a 16' piece of steel until the end of time. :D

Those casters are ok for lighter loads. I have a rockler base under my wimpy craftsman bandsaw and it works well. I would not enjoy them on a heavy table. Plus, when you want to wheel around you have to lift them one at a time and then for a moment you have half the table weight on one caster (instead of 1/4)
I used these on my welding table - they come in different capacities:
They also let you level your table.
