Good morning PA. When I checked my rain gauge a short time ago it had 5 inches of rain in it. Good thing this wasn't snow. LOL.

Yea, just hit a deer going into work a couple weeks ago. Body shop finally got the car completely looked over and there was enough extra damage they going to total it. Originally the insurance guy said it was fixable.

I’m glad I got a third gen for a rental though. Can’t believe people are paying 40k for these turds. What’s wrong with Yinz.

$40k is pretty much for any new vehicle today, certainly a pick up truck. Too much inflation and supply chain shortages.

This thing shifts up and down 7 times on a hill my golf stayed in the same gear for lol.

If I was an engineer on this I’d be embarrassed

When I got mine 2 years ago I went and read some of the threads here about such things. The posters really emphasized the need to break the transmission in properly and I took that seriously and worked it slowly. Honestly, I really haven't had that problem with mine. I live in a hilly area (LOL, who doesn't in WPA) and find I have sufficient power and don't notice constant shifting. Maybe because it's a rental and so many different people have driven it without regard is why you are seeing this? Anybody else here have a similar experience as mine?

it also has a measly 15lbft of torques more than my little hatchback though.

I'll be honest. I don't know much about this. Do different Tacomas have different torque, or all they all the same? I have a TRD off road.

Same here...my 21 OR is at 14K miles and I am still taking it easy on the throttle. It does downshift when needed, but it does not really shift up and down like it didn't know what gear to go to. I also not revving the engine too high and always taking it easy on each acceleration hoping it will pay dividends in the long run thus cost of ownership can stay minimal.

Got a 2020 as does my kid, don’t have any issues in shifting or does he. He has a government car due to his job and barely drives his but still says no issues with the constant shifting.
I have 35K and he has about 18K, so we would notice by now.
If he keeps this job and granted company car, his truck should last him a life time.
Maybe as others said, break in time?

Finally made it to Oregon steaks today with my daughter, not bad. Good cheesesteak and fries. Left for 9th street, the Italian market after and took a walk, bought some stuff (got some live crabs for crabs and gravy tomorrow, an Italian thing) and stopped to get some wine and beer at a fairly new place. Sat outside, I had the beer shown below, my daughter got some wine.
People watching and talking, PPA, Philadelphia Parking Authority shows up.
The blue car top right of the photo, parked in front of a hydrant. Can’t see it in the photo.
In seconds, hooked it up and hauled it out. Guy came out , owner I guess, as it was rolling down the street, running down the street screaming.
    Funniest thing I’ve seen.
Beer actually not bad despite the name.

New headlights. Night and day difference from the original faded housings. Still need to finish aiming them.
