I agree. That why I went track only and do some off road dual sport riding. Too many oblivious people on the roads today.

It's why I gave up street riding. Here in CA you almost get a contact high from all the drivers smoking weed nowadays. Nobody's looking where they're going.

How does the process of getting weed go? Do you just go to a store or gas station and grab it like your buying a drink?

Pretty much. Different weed stores sell different things. Some sell weed while others sell edibles.

Now that GP season is over we can all bench race about what we own and rode while waiting for next season. Here I am racing Sears Point, open twins class, TL1000R. I raced from '99 to 2010 when my daughter went to college and I got too fat and broke to race. My last street bike, Ninja 1K. Sold her a couple years ago. My sumo race bike, CRF450R. Lowered 1", stage II engine, runs on 110 octane. Still in the garage. And my YSR50 that does 3rd gear wheelies with my fat ass on it. Thanks to Team Calamari. Street legal 2-smoke. Still got this one too. I know I wouldn't mind seeing some of your rides past and present.

Definitely scary out there lots of distracted drivers. I was in a bad crash back in April, a car pulled out in front of me at the last second and hit pretty hard. The driver was 18 y/o and said she didn't see me. Broke my leg, shoulder, both thumbs, and a dislocated elbow. Totaled my FZ-09. I'm still doing physical therapy but mostly back to normal. It sucked to say the least and I know it could have been a whole lot worse.

I recently started riding again. Gave serious thought on switching to track only or dirt. I guess ultimately I love the freedom of hopping on my motorcycle and going where the road takes me and not willing to give that up yet.

Looks like Fabio and the rest of the Yamaha riders go into 2023 disappointed with the bikes, again. I felt Ducati would take the rider championship and easily the constructor's championship back in January. Unless something changes, Ducati will have an easier time in 2023, IMO.

I'd like to see Marc Marquez make the jump to Ducati. Heck, it'd be interesting to see Fabio on a Duc too. Ah, it's gonna be a long winter...

Who woulda thought Ducati would take the Manufacturer's title with 6 bikes on the grid? The bigger surprise is that KTM took 2nd! Happy for them. And it seems like their riders were more or less happy with the first test. I hope Aprilia can capitalize on a strong season and have a better showing next year with a more reliable bike. It seems like a lot of their troubles centered around poor reliability/mechanical issues.

Conspiracy theory: Alex has been sent to Ducati by his father as a mole to scout the Ducati for a potential future MM93 move.

Some good riders have switched manufacturers. More aprilia's and more ktm's and sprint races! Only 1 new rookie. It's going to be a balls out season next year. I hope you all kept an eye on the Valencia shake down tests.

Actually, they have 8 bikes on the grid. lol... But, more bikes on the grid doesn't necessarily equate to better chance of Constructor's Championship. There's definitely pros and cons to more bikes. And while Ducati has arguably the best bikes on the grid, they have many excellent riders to pilot them. Not to forget, the woes all other manufacturers seem to be having with their machines.

Agreed on Aprilia. Both Aleix and Maverick are highly capable riders. Hopefully the bikes are more reliable in 2023.

Looks like Suzuki is going to be smashing most of their MotoGP bikes (and spare parts) to avoid owning taxable assets while some are donated to museums. I guess auctioning them off to collectors is a no go. What a shame.

Honestly, fuck Suzuki. It's so sad to see them go out like that and then destroy most of their bikes. One of their riders won a championship on it and the other just won 2 out of the last 3 races. What a slap in the face to the team.

While I agree he took it out on the M1, I don't agree with the team or his wife part. I look at it like this:
You can be the most talented rider on the grid, but on the wrong bike, you're an average Joe. I do not blame Maverick one bit for being pissed at the inconsistency of the M1. He had the balls to say what the others didn't. Is that whining? Not in my opinion. You only have so many years at your peak level, we all know this. It's gotta be blood boiling to know you could be battling for top 3 overall but your bike may as well say Huffy on the side of it. Clearly, both Aprilia riders would have had better overall results if the bike wasn't holding them back.

There is a level of professionalism to be expected from riders. And I'm sure it goes hand in hand with how long and good of a relationship the rider has with the manufacturer. It took Fabio a long time to admit the M1 has problems and talk about them. You can forgive / overlook an issue in a race, maybe 2. But half or more of the season? You can say Rossi and Dovi retired because they were old, or you can say they were both pretty competitive until they got on that PETRONAS piece of shit. Hell, even Petronas gave up. lmao....

Bottom line, both Aleix and Maverick have room to be unhappy with their bikes. But, Aprilia has come a long way in MotoGP. I haven't seen Maverick making any big scenes about his bike this year. Am I missing something?

Grip is a separate mistress compared to the bike your married to.

You sure it wasn't Sepang? I feel like I remember him struggling there and losing a lot of time in certain sections. Maybe it was Phillip Island though.

Let's be honest, riders showing animated gestures like that isn't unusual to see after the end of a hard pushing session like FP3 or qualifying. Adrenaline is pumping off the charts and when you miss out on that next grid position, or you're not even close in a certain sector, you're gonna be fired up. As long as he isn't trying to grenade it like he did with the Yamaha, I don't see a problem.

No, I'm getting a Sepang or Valencia flashback where he blew qualifying Q2 and got bumped off the front row?

One thing is for sure...It looks like the coveted testing champion title might be in danger of being relinquished by MV. He's been the defending champion for some time now.
