    I don’t believe you.

    That’s just a general statement.

The concept of driving to the single digit percentages is going to take some getting used to. Even on long distance trips I’ve always filled up the tank around 1/8 at the latest except in unusual cases. With an EV and the charging speed curve favoring starting at lower percentages it makes sense but still. Weird.

I thought it was better for the battery not to drain it that low?

I’m not certain. For daily use I wouldn’t do that but it seems to be the norm on longer (1000 mile plus) trips from what I’ve been reading.

I heard the same. Supposed to keep it between 20 and 80% for longevity, I thought.

    https://www.thedrive.com/news/rivians-led-headlights-are-giving-owners-headaches-in-snow-and-ice

Not an exclusive problem to Rivian as LEDs don't produce heat and melt snow.

What made me laugh is the fix. Add auxiliary lighting that melts freezing precipitation and splice into your windshield washer system. Um? It's a $100.000 truck.

That is the only applicable solution to the issue until Rivian adds heating elements to their light$ or washer jet$.

The article also mentions the vertical headlight architecture as problematic.

So I assume my Tacoma leds have the same exact issue.
Also what’s snow and ice ?

I would think so, but Toyota didn't design the Tacoma two years ago, and they don't offer LED in Canada maybe on the Pro they do.

I don't really care for LED in the fog, as it illuminates the fog. I don't find that problematic, but no real benefit over halogen in fog conditions.

The glare from oncoming LED OEM headlights is more intense in fog. You also have drivers who activate their OEM LED fogs, and don't turn off there OEM LED AHB.

OEM LED auto high beam should be deactivated when OEM fogs are switched on.

The fogs go out when highbeams are activated.

    Silly Regulations.

They have a great design, nice retro feel and still fresh. Head and shoulders above Rivian.

But it appears to be all renderings, zero actual vehicles in production.

Been following them for a few years. They showed a clay mock up but doors didn't open and windows blacked out. Seems to be not a real Mfg but just a design company. I think they are waiting for a buyout of their renders.

Alpha is vapourware and probably will be forever. I certainly wouldn't look for an "investment opportunity" with it.

That being said.... The Alpha truck is one of the best looking trucks in decades.

That car is cool looking too

Can't they just make an announcement? The automotive media outlets can pick up the story.

For as much as I like regular cab trucks and more so on the compact to midsize range. Who would really buy one of these? and with a low ball estimate of the $60k . Who is going to pay over $60k for a small 2 seater pick up?

I doubt they will happen too. If they aren’t at the LA Auto Show next week (starts on the 18th) then you know for sure they are dead.

They look great, I’d buy one if built as designed now with a reasonable range.

Charge rate peaked at 210kw, not too shabby.

I almost jumped on a Large Pack build. Yesterday they listed probably close to 40 builds, which is very encouraging to wait for one that has all the available options that I want.
