Hey guys I’m new to the forum but I have a question. I just had frame work done to my 2000 Tacoma and they had to remove the fuel tank and bed. When I started home with it it started cutting out. When I got home I smelled gas and seen a leak on evap system. When I pulled the vent line to frame off it pouring fuel out. Question it shouldn’t have fuel in it. I check line and they seem to be correct. Why am I getting fuel there?

Are you sure you don't have the vent confused with the return fuel line?

I did this job on the wife's 2.7 2 years ago.

Regardless, the shop may have to look at it again.

Well I’m not 100% sure but my float vent in tank is correct cause I just changed it. But not sure about the other 2 lines. I know evap is toast now no matter what but I really need to fix this bad. It’s a daily driver.

Does anyone have a drawing on the line connection to the tank to the evap?

If you know what you're doing then very cool.

If you're just poking about, perhaps have it towed back and let them (the shop) deal with their work. Messing with the fuel system can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Just throwing that out there.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Vehicle fires are not fun if your driving.

Did you pay for this frame repair ?? Done by friends for food??

If you did have them fix the mistake . Anything hooked up wrong is on the fuel tank end .

So your pulling the bed to see what is wrong??

Something swapped causing higher then normal tank pressure pushing fuel out the evap line

    Best of Luck!!

I’m not poking around, there something swapped and I just need to know how to get back right.
I have contacted shop and they say it’s right, but this wasn’t a problem until they worked on frame. I had a leak on the line going to the float screen( that’s what I call it) so I know that Line is in the right place not sure about the feed and return is why I asked for drawing. If that was a drawing that was sent it would not open. If no one has it when the weather clears I will trace it and figure it out.

The file opened fine for me.

What are you trying to open it with??

Do you have the software to open pdf files? Try again?
