Impressive, but why not put the BMW up high versus the truck in the crappy weather?

@DoubleRGirl thats awesome. I want one.

Drippy drippy :( maybe truck doesn't fit under either. My buddy can fit 4 if he jockeys one around a post and it's blocked in the back of the 3 bay. He knows he can, doesn't mean he does all the time too. I'm sure storms and stuff he can get them all tucked in and not have them covered in snow, makes plowing easier too.

Yeah the lift doesn't go high enough for anything more than a car, but both get parked for the winter so it works

She’s running great after plug swap. I don’t think I torqued enough on a few of them the last time I changed in fear of breaking the plugs. Did what I think was a lot more this time. I’m going to pull one of the coils out after a month or so and take a look. I’ll check the torque on the valve cover gasket’s this weekend and see what I find.

Prior to the change it really wasn’t running great. Poor mileage the most noticeable and less responsive. Last change was about 65k ago

    Feeling epically defeated right now.

I got to experience that moment when righty tighty turns into righty loosey. This summer I did brakes on the Jeep, first brake job I've ever done. Everything went swimmingly until about a month ago when I started getting a ton of squealing and knocking when I'd hit the brakes. I decided to tear into them today and hit everything but the rotor and pad surface with brake lube to try and shut it up and then re-torque everything.

Yeah, I misread the torque specs on the caliper slide pin / mounting bolt. It's 41 ft-lbs or 55 N-m. It's not 55 ft-lbs. I was noticing it felt really weird when I was torqueing it and then suddenly it went loose again. I ended up damaging the hole in the caliper bracket. I'm reluctant to re-tap the caliper bracket even though I have all the parts to do it. Of course Auto Zone doesn't sell caliper brackets and Jeep doesn't have them in stock. So onto jack stands it sits until at least Tuesday night. Go me.

Edit, caliper bracket, not caliper. The caliper itself is fine.

I’d tap it personally as long as the material isn’t thin, and I can’t imagine it would be on a caliper bracket.

Fundamentally I know this, but this is the family hauler. I don’t want to put them at risk because I tapped a hole a degree out. It’s not that I can’t, it’s that my brain won’t let me.

Drilled rotors are purely for aesthetics on a street car and most are drilled post casting giving you a weak point on the rotor. When I bought my Vette they were on there and I plan to throw on blanks once I get around to doing them.
