No problem at all. Thanks for doing it!

Looks like it’s pretty close in some spots.

My width is 57” and the t slot top to the top of bedside ranged from 2.25 to 2.75 on the tallest part.

Did you measure from below or above the t slot?

I measured from the bottom side of the t slot, as best as I could estimate. I measured on both driver and passenger side in a couple spots, but only in front of the wheel wells.

Okay perfect. One more question don’t go measure this though. You’ve already done enough.

If you had to guess is the bed rail (or width of the shell) closer to 2 or 3 inches? I need some steel for it to mount on and can’t decide if I should get 2 or 3 inch wide for the shell to sit on.

It's definitely more than 2" but I don't think it's a lot more. I used a 2 1/8" bulb seal on my cap which seemed to be a good fit. I think my cap uses a 2" wide base.

You might check in with folks on this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-diy-wedge-camper.604686/

They probably have all the measurements

Ha! Apparently I have quite a few doppelgangers around the area, although that guy has way more color on his chin than I do.

I see used shell Craigslist ads from what looks like a giant lot of them with the location marked as Santa Clara. I’ve emailed them a few times but they never reply back (which makes me almost not want to deal with them). Anyone know where this place is?

It’s an ARE Camper Shell. Always looks like it is closed. It’s on El Camino at like Lafayette ish. There is a Snugtop dealer in San Jose off of 13th. I doubt it’s that place tho.

I've talked to the guy on Craigslist flipping the shells. It sounds like he works for Shells Plus and stores them there, but sells the used ones on the side separately.

Looks like the place. Good find.

I might try that Snugtop dealer. I’m not having great success with this guy via Craigslist.

I think I’ll try to stop by shells plus and see if I can get them to let me meaure something t.

I go by there a couple times a week and I'd swear they're never open. Or at least they never seem to be there.

I've been having the worst luck with packages lately. Box shipped out of South San Francisco and I'm in the East Bay. What does USPS do? They send it to Sacramento then on to LA then to Riverside where it now shows out for delivery. :bananadead:

    WTF? lol
