Sand the hell out of that thing. Mask it off really good and take your time. Go with light layers so it doesn't run. Put as many layers of clear coats as you can.

Can you get a closer picture? You might want to get a lower grit sandpaper. The paint will chip really easy if you don't sand it well enough.

x2 I would just sand the whole thing and spray the whole thing down with primer. Then mask off the honeycomb and paint the surround. Then matte clear the honeycomb and high gloss clear the surround.

Use the 100, and go over it really good so the scratches are even throughout the chrome. Then use filler primer to cover the scratches

So the 100 grit will not leave to deep of scratches? I plan on putting 2 coats of AP then 2 or 3 coats of primer and then 3 coats of primer and alot of paint and alot of clear.

So your saying prime the honey comb and then paint the honey comb then the surround?

I'm pretty sure if you get the filler primer it should be thick enough to fill in the scratches. If it still has deep scratches go back to 320 and sand the scratches out. Or use filler primer for a couple coats, then use a high grit sand paper and sand it so the scratches fade a little, then prime it again and sand it again until it is smooth
