I have a 2010 4X2 Regular Cab Automatic with the enhancement package (A/C & sliding rear window). If money was no object I would want a PreRunner Access Cab V6 Automatic with SR5 package #2 and the 16 inch alloy wheels.

If I needed a 4WD for "wheelin" I would buy the base short bed single cab 4x4 4 banger package and build it.

I was looking for a 2WD TRD because I like the look of the truck and don;t need a 4WD here. When I found one without all the color keying I jumped on it not realizing it was a one year edition truck. It had all the TRD stuff so I bought it Good thing because i would have paid too much for it had I known it was a factory build of a TRD. LOL. I figured if I am going to want a TRD with the OR suspension, may as well get the Locker and AT tires. I am not sure what the other differences are between that and the Sport is. The non TRD Pre Runner was not on the radar, Plus I wanted the HD tow package

I may be wrong on this because I was looking for a TRD used. I found a Tacoma that did not have color keyed fenders and everything else with what seemed like a TRD package on it except the alloys were not the original black ones. I thought at first it was a "Frankenstein" truck.

The salesguy told me it was a TRD. I saw it that was purchased there and the owner must have removed the decal and swapped out the black wheels for aluminum alloys. Looking at it..It seemed to have all the TRD package stuff.
Found out here it was called the "Rugged Trail Edition" and only made in 2008 here on this forum and was relieved it was an actual model.

It was the perfect combo for me as I really don't care for the colorkeyed Tupperware but wanted the TRD package in a 2WD. I could not find a tacome where the painted flares had the same gloss as the body and everything colorkeyed looks overdone to me. So I lucked out and got waht I wanted in a paint scheme I preferred. I have since rebadged it.

Leer 100xr with adventure package, duratrack's, weathertech's, demello sliders, billie 5100's all around, URD short shifter, Diff breather mod. Hiese lightbar. Grillcraft grill. PIAA 520 severere weather driving lights. Other random stuff as well.

finding one with a six speed was key to me. the color I wanted was just a kicker.
While im sure its gonna be a while before i really test out the capabilities of the truck, but living in MT, I like knowing I have one of the most capable trucks out there to drive, incase things get bad.

2011 DCLB, TRD Sport, V6, 4WD, Auto. Use it on pipeline inspection out on the right of ways etc. So far, it's kept up just fine with the "big dogs". Cannot believe how air-tight the cab is...which is great as it keeps all the dust out of the truck. I love this thing!!
